oh yes it’s sooooo sad that I want a nice looking engine.
That you CAN'T see. If the hood on your current car was bolted down and you were never going to open it again, would you put engine dress up parts on it? I think we both know the answer to that.

I sincerely hope this stops certain people from going on and on about some kind of "tubes" installed for sound. I mean, how many times does GM have to confirm that the audio system is being used to augment the engine noise, and not some kind of phantom "sound tubes".
I had a focus rs that had what we all dubbed a feng (fake engine noise generator). There was a box bolted next to the amp that generated the sound. You could unplug the box with no penalty. Hopefully the c8 will be the same. I didn’t care too much for it, even on that car I felt it was unnecessary. Some people like it, I dunno, it wasn’t for me.
Pretty clear Bose is responsible for the enhancement:
Bose engineers collaborate with carmakers to bring the signature sound of your car’s engine to life. The algorithm works with the vehicle’s sound system to enhance the spectrum of select engine tones, providing refined and desirable powertrain sound inside the cabin.
Are you sure they were not talking about the "Silent, Tour, Sport and Track" selector for the exhaust? Because they were looking at the screen discussing this..

Several reviewers said the enhanced engine sound was coming from the speakers.
It’s a Bose feature that came out with the 6th gen Camaro with Bose premium stereo package. It uses an algorithm to noise cancel and enhance engine sound.
Some years ago the mustang was so quiet they considered putting a tape of a large engine in it so it sounded better. Don't know if they ever did it or not.
I can't say for sure what the C8 is doing, but i own another car where it was determined there was some sound coming from the speakers when someone took apart the audio components and found a "engine sound control module". No one knew it was there and no one could hear any sounds coming from the speakers. He was able to isolate that noise (somewhat by accident) and it is not recognizable as engine noise at all -- and when played at volume on its own sounded awful. It was just a low frequency vibration noise not sounding like an engine or exhaust. Based on what we've read here, that there is some sound but it just an enhancement to the engine noise and not real engine noise, I suspect something similar with the C8.
Already multiple threads on this, it has sound tubes.
Yep, from Automobile Magazine:
An unfortunate aspect of the mid-engine placement is that the V-8's accessory drive is located directly behind the passenger bulkhead. Corvette engineers prescribed a 9mm-thick window between the cabin and the engine compartment to filter out the undesirable noise and added a composite-material sound tube that routes appealing exhaust noise from the back of the engine into the cabin.

Automobile is, no doubt, the be all and end all of absolute knowledge. The poor stepchild of Motor Trend, LOL.
OTOH, GM itself has acknowledged the augmentation through the speakers.
Camaros are using an intake sound tube to funnel intake noise through the firewall . I don’t think the C8 uses that method. I know other cars add engine noise. Just wondering if it can be bypassed or how it’s done.

Now, that's funnier than h#ll! No wonder they sound like !
New video that discusses whether or not "fake" engine noises are cool. https://youtu.be/64YzCty-27Y
Im just going to say this again, C8 should have overrun backfires. Buckshot buckshot.
