In the YouTube video around 2 minutes in Mike Hurley, vehicle dynamics engineer, says the engine sound is enhanced in the C8 during a test drive. It sounds like it’s coming though the stereo system. I haven’t seen this confirmed by a C8 engineer before.
It’s not a big deal. The Camaros have had it for a few years now. Whatever tech they are using, it’s seamless and completely unnoticeable to anyone in the car.
Camaros are using an intake sound tube to funnel intake noise through the firewall . I don’t think the C8 uses that method. I know other cars add engine noise. Just wondering if it can be bypassed or how it’s done.

It’s a Bose feature that came out with the 6th gen Camaro with Bose premium stereo package. It uses an algorithm to noise cancel and enhance engine sound.
Not as bad as the Golf R, GTI VW adding a vibrating device on the firewall to make feel like as if there was a nice deeper engine, sound or exhaust but when you rolled the windows down...it was quiet. 😂
LOL, No surprise that the “Corvette” sound would be Faked on this car. So sad GM.
According to FringbirdAloha, it’s been going on since the C6. So apparently it’s “faked” (as you put it), in your C7 too! So very very sad...

You're confusing two completely different systems.
In 2005 - they had a noise cancellation system which sends a "white" noise through the speakers to counteract nvh. You can hear it with the radio off still. Put your ear up to a speaker in the car and you'll hear a hiss type sound. It drove me nuts on my new 05 and then I found out it was normal and relaxed lol.
The C8 has that bose noise cancelling PLUS - the C8 is using "sound tubes" which transmit engine sound from the engine compartment INTO the cabin. For enjoyment if the small block sound... nothing to do with counteracting NVH..
Not true of the C6 and C7. No fake sound being pumped into the cabin. It’s all the real thing.
Yeah you're wrong here... none of the sounds if faked, but the C6/7/8 all have similar noise cancellation strategies. The exhaust sound itself is all real in all of the cars.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
