At the Corvette Caravan in late August, I was fortunate enough to have lunch with one of the engineers and his wife. The first question I asked was about cabin noise (not specifically engine noise). He said in their initial drives, they noticed the car was much quieter than expected. He stated they thought originally that it might have been all the camo on it. However, when the camo was removed the car was still very quiet. He stated that placing the rear tires back ~ 16” further than the C7, it reduced the road noise substantially. He said they had engineered in things like the thickness of the window between the cabin and engine compartment etc. to reduce engine related noise. Based on the tests by several magazines, it seems the cabin is very quiet for its design. I have seen some discussion about actually bringing in more engine sound to the cabin but I have no idea the validity of those statements. Looking forward to riding in it to see how quiet it really is. The road noise is one of the negatives of the Vette. However, it has never discouraged me from owning them.
I’m thinking you’ll get more sounds in the convertible with the top down or with the top up and back window down... part of the appeal of the convertible for me.

sure will. It’s even got “sound tubes” that help get some of those cool sounds up to the cabin. Still supposed to be luxuriously quiet.
God, when will this stupid "fake news" die. There are NO sound tubes. No one from GM ever said there are sound tubes. GM has said, more than once, that some engine sound are augmented through the audio system, and with the windows down you can hear intake noise coming back through the side vents.
