Has anyone seen in real life ground effects on a car?

No, just renders on some videos. I did order the Carbon Fiber set for mine though.

Yes, my Ferrari has underbody ground effects.

But I suspect you are asking about the add on body part for the C8. Calling them "ground effects" is not much different than calling them "add on body parts" you just spell a few words differently, but they do not really change the aerodynamics of the vehicle.

Didn’t think I was on the Ferrari forum but yes the C8. I guess that’s what I call them as GM does

To answer your first question, yes full ground effects on a car I once owned. Have always heard them called ground effects and nothing else. Just saying.

What do you mean exactly when you say ground effects on a car? Just aero aids or side pods and a blown diffuser or even something like the Brabham BT46? That begs the question what does this have to do with a C8?

I would like to see a C8 with them on as I have ordered! Have not seen them! The sketch from GM is a bit vague. I am getting them for the same reason I added full length side skirts to my 2014 Z51 (from LG Motorsports) and ordered the Stage 2 Aero on my current Grand Sport- the full length side skirts stop rocks from marking the rocker panels!

From the GM sketch's you can see the full length side skirts but the rear fender end is not clear. Would be nice to know exactly what that $4850 option looks like!

Hmm, strange bunch of posters!
Yep the OP meant on a car.
Yep as they were on the C8 forum could "guess" they were talking about the C8.
Yep could include all the aero aids that come with the C8 like the full "belly pan,"
Yep might be referring to all possible aids like surface aero attachments that reduce boundary layer thickness to reduce drag, using the Coanda effect to keep air attached to some surfaces, enhanced rear diffuser employing multiple fences, and an assessment if the exhaust outlet location has any "blown diffuser" effect!

BUT there is a $4850 option called "Ground Effects" by GM that includes a carbon fiber splitter, full length side skirts and an appendage at the rear wheel opening end of the side skirts that is not well defined in GM sketches. As noted some of us have ordered without seeing installed an actual C8!

I appreciate the clarification. Interestingly I am improving the aero efficiency at the front and rear of one of my cars now to hopefully increase downforce but never in my life would have thought to call the improvements "ground effects" when technically they are. When I read the question my mind immediately went to F1 side pods with full on surgery and a dramatic redesign and was curious how that was going to apply to the C8 .

I was unaware of the additional GM supplied aero package and had I been asking the question would have made specific reference to it.

Yep, I understood what your 1st post meant! BTW I wanted the $3895 carbon fiber painted carbon flash option as well BUT it's NOT available. That is what I have on my C7 Grand Sport Stage 2 option. Only the visible carbon fiber $4895 is currently (or was a month ago) available to order.

Have a theory as to why based on the early availability to visible C7 CF roofs! could be!
