Thank you, this. Sorry, but I think this should be aligned at the factory in a consistent pattern on every wheel. This isn't the day after Super Bowl when nobody gives a ****...
Hate to burst your bubble, but the center caps will rotate a bit on their own - ask me how I know. So an aligned center cap, after a bit of driving, won't be...
A lot of car show people call it clocking screws. As in aligning all screw heads the same way. Aligning the wheel center caps is a must do. If you are really ocd, you will align the tire size on the sidewall with the valve stem hole and then the center cap. At the show, jack each corner and turn the tire until the valve stem points down. Then everything looks good. If you are really **** retentive, you will grind all the raised letters off the tire sidewall for a nice, smooth look.
And if you really are OCD you carry that inside to your house. Electric wall plate screw alignment is a must.
Having the point of the corvette flag in the C6, C7 and now C8 center cap point to valve stem has long been a tradition. When I picked up my 19 GS from MacMulkin over the summer thats exactly the way they were and it was the first thing I checked. I was pleasantly surprised that somebody in the dealer or Bowling Green knew of this tradition and followed thru.
It has taken me years to train the people at my local Discount Tire to point the emblem toward the valve stem but I have finally succeed.
They do it now without me reminding them.
Great. Now we are all going to go out to our cold garages or snow covered driveways and check our center caps! Couldn't you have waited until Spring to post this?

You have been around here long enough to know this is a Corvette tradition so it should have been done when you first got your car. Hence you shouldn't be worrying having to to go out to your cold garage because it should have already been done. Now put your jacket on and go check! lol
Leave the caps off, sprinkle a few tire boogers around the inside of the wheel and leave a good amount of brake pad dust all over and you might get thumbs up from racecar drivers that think you know how to drive it!!

Thank you for explaining the tradition of the centre caps...
Hi Greg. Maybe you can expand on what I and others need to know. I don't want to be the one to trample on tradition and upset the brotherhood and comradery of Corvette Nation...
Does anyone know what an RCA is? You can buy the Jake caps and not worry about this....or does Jake's chin need need to point at the valve stem??? The true great mystery!

I do wave. It's not the forum it's this thread that seems just created to have a (stupid) conversation. And the fact that I'm here involved sure implies I must be bored.

A red c**t hair?
Thankfully I have realized my OCD is obviously in remission compared to others.
