Never owned a Corvette in my life, but was always my favorite of the American sport car. Late 70s was and is one of my favorites. I finally mustered up the self convincing and ordered a C8 about 3 weeks ago. It’s through a dealer in the Bay Area. I know they have already had their total allocation trimmed and after placing my order I am within their total. I don’t know but I am assuming I am around 11-12 of 15. I have mentally resigned myself that I am getting a 2021 and if I am lucky, I somehow squeak into a 2020. The dealer couldn’t say either way. Said I have a good chance at a 2020 but has to say a 2021 is certainly possible.

curious what people on the forum may think if I’d be crazy to think I’d get a 2020 at this point. Blk+Blk/2LT/PEP/Front lift/engine app/

Black is the only color I think I'd prefer the body color side intakes.

Congrats with the order and I hope you get it in 2020. I ordered from a small dealer here and was picked up last month.

Nice build... really like the no wing more that I see it.

This C8 will be my 4th. First time buying a Corvette is like joining a cult. Once in its hard to get out.

This is similiar to my build. I did order 2 LT, Z-51, Mag ride and front end lift and Adrenaline red interior. Black is my favorite color on the Vette. I currently have Triple black Vert 2004 C-5, 6 speed with 26K miles. My TPW for the C-8 is 2/1720

Owning a black car can be a bit of a challenge if you love your cars looking clean. I had my black C-5 ceramic coated, it is worth every penny of the (roughly) $1000. This is just a heads up on the best $1000 I ever spent on a car. Although the C-8 I'm getting will be shadow gray, I'll still get it coated.

It sounds like they are being straight with you on timing. Ask them for a copy of the GM Workbench input of your car. It should show 1100 and Retail Sold. They still would need to get an allocation, but it does help establish they are in good faith.

Welcome to the forum and the Corvette! Great looking car..but now you gotta go buy a $500.00 batman suit just to drive around in! This is a great forum, this section is a little sketchy due to the nature of all the folks interested in the C8, but I have lived and depended on the the C5 forums and the racing forums..have met sooo many great people and saved soo much money and time working on various projects. Assuming the C8 is anywhere near as capable a car as the C5,6,7, you are about to have your Paradigm shifted!

Seriously. It’s true, had to have a convo with my wife and ask, can I pull this off? Then said f-it. Going for it. In my brief period on the board, I’ve found a slew of helpful info, links, and questions to ask my dealer. I know how pumped I am, I can’t imagine the wait and anticipation others feel who put their deposit down day 1. Thanks for the perspective. I do hope this is my first of several vettes. Still hoping I get lucky for a 2020 but my own debate may have cost me, but them are the brakes. Need to find out where I am on the list after the Feb orders.
