The C8 will be my first Corvette even though I've always loved them. I have many friends who have owned them for years. However, none of them use them as daily drivers & they all are low mileage for their age.
I'm buying my C8 as a daily driver which my commute is 60+ miles round trip daily. I'm looking for thoughts from those who have high miles on their Corvettes. How's their reliability for those who drive their cars?
I've had two Corvettes as daily drivers, a C5 and a C6. I put over 75k miles on them and had zero issues with either one. New tires at 24k, new battery at 5 years. Normal maintenance per specifications. Properly maintained, Corvettes are great daily drivers...)))

I just looked it up & it's 72 miles a day back & forth to work. Then having fun riding along the beach on the weekends. With all these miles my warranty will be up in no time.
Modern Corvettes are great daily drivers. My '13 which is a semi-daily driver has over 72,000 miles and has had few issues - where almost all were covered by warranty. I am confident whenever I take the car - regardless if it is a short trip or out-of-state. Using a vehicle all the time is better for the car than letting it sit. You will go through consumables such as oil, tires, brake pads etc but you can count on the reliability to be excellent.
Some are reluctant on first year purchases and I feel the same. However remember that the 2014 owners reported zero to low issues, especially with the auto trans.
Good point, so let me answer your question. Since 1991 I have owned 11 Vettes, all daily drivers. Some averaged 25K miles a year. Eleven Vettes...ZERO problems. I take my '16 C7 in for an oil change, and i'm out in 1 hour and it costs about $100.00. I also owned an 1987 Camaro IROC Z28. Same story. And oh, by the way, I owned a 2005 Viper SRT 10. Worlds biggest piece of junk. And my two Ferrari's...totally overrated when it comes to work needing to be done and maintenance costs. My Porsches were great cars. But give me a Chevy any day. Can't wait for my C8 Convertible to be built in April!
The A8 issues were very serious to many, not so serious for others. I know one guy who sold his 2016 Z07 because of the A8 shudder. Point is, the C8 doesn’t have an A8. So, that is a non-issue. Does that mean something else will or won’t be problematic on the A8? Not at all. Even one of our Lexus SUVs had a very serious automatic issue that was a huge problem for many other owners as well.
We are now on our 5th Corvette. Three of those were daily drivers and had fewer issues than our Lexus, one Caddy, and one Jag.
We just sold our C5 Vert which was trouble free for about 8 years and our newer DD 2017 Z07 shows no signs of being problematic with 13,000 miles.
Considering the C7 eras lengthy R&D efforts, the problems they corrected, and the even more likely C8 in depth R&D the first year cars might just be worth a shot and relatively trustworthy. Either way, good luck...
I have had 3 corvettes over the last 5 years, and have put right at 100,000 total miles on them.....the ONLY time they ever went to the dealer was for oil/filter changes.
I have purchased three brand new Corvettes that I used as a switch off with my company car as a semi-daily driver on nice inclement weather days. 1) 1990 Corvette ZR1 I put 14,000 miles over two years and only had one minor warraning light issue. 2) 2005 C6 Converitable with the power top no issues only put 10,000 miles but in one year on that one 0 issues and 3) an ordered C6 2006 Z06, 15,000 miles in two years 0 issues just normal inexpesive service.
Good luck and enjoy your C8, I have one on order also.

we have a 2015 z06 z07 convertible with the A8 trans and it’s been fantastic with zero issues. I have no problem obtaining new generation cars as it’s not like the old days.
