The Euro regulations are killing German cars. That exhaust is terrible.

Yeah, the 992 sounds terrible under hard acceleration and just like a Camry otherwise, what a joke.

Great video.
I hate to say it but it looks like the Porsche leaves harder.
Looks like the vette burns out a little the the clutch must open up for a split second until it get traction

That's part of why Shmee liked the car so much. A nice sounding NA V8 doesn't exist over there. He made the point that the C8 is the only NA V8 ME produced in the entire world right now.

But really nice comparative video. Both could be said to bog a little upon initial launch. But maintaining high rpms upon launch is really hard on clutches, whether manual or DCT. That's why torque converter transmissions, even two-speeds, still shine at the dragstrip.
I will also agree that the sound of the Porsche sounds a bit lame, compared to the V8.

The shift to second on some of the C8's almost sounds like a slight slip going on, but it isn't consistent.

Neither “launch” is very impressive, at least as seen through the video
& yes the Porsche sounds anemic.

Every time I go to Portillos at noon, I need to exercise lunch control. The Italian beef makes it tough though.

Read on the internet that the C8 launches so hard you will lose your lunch. Is that what you mean by by lunch control? I will just carry some emesis bags.

Those are the all wheel drive 4s aren't they? Wouldn't that make this comparison invalid?
