So looking at the video drag times posted. The inbuilt stop watch on the C8 read 3.1s and dragy read 3.37. So almost 0.3s the onboard timer is showing faster. GM must have that timer on roll out as it was pretty obvious to me the timer is delayed when launching. I assumed it was close to 0.6s when I was using a stop watch but it looks to be around 0.3s.
60-130mph as expected struggles a bit.
The C8 has proven it has been close enough that there's no way someone could say it was a false statement. Heck Tadge used the "we've seen" for the under 3 seconds. And they could've. Who's to say they didn't back the cal down some after production. Started for any number of reasons but reliability would be a big one?
Absolutely. Given all the variables, it would be ridiculous to think that every C8 could do a 3 sec 0-60, regardless of local conditions such as heat and humidity, wind, altitude, tire pressure etc. Let's not forget that we are discussing tenths of a second and not full seconds. Not much difference between cars which can turn a 3 or a 3.2 sec 0-60.
Bottom line the C8 is a very, very fast car. I'm still puzzled that so many people are so obsessed with the 0-60 metric. I've owned spots cars for decades and I have never run a timed 0-60. I've turned countless timed 1/4 mile runs, but never a timed 0-60.

Technology is supposed to be the great equalizer and remove skill needed to accomplish great feats as the ME, DCT with launch control should make everyone a “hero”...now if only they can figure out a way to control the atmosphere
Anyone who buys a C8 and is unhappy with it’s 0 to 60 time, or it’s quarter-mile time or trap speed, and wants to get rid of it, I’ll be happy to take your used C8 off your hands. Car must not have been broken or wrecked, warranty valid, and you must’ve followed correct break-in procedures. Can’t be in the weird blue or yellow colors. Price to be negotiated.
I am here for you....🏁🥂

I am an attorney and the applicable statute for a claim of false advertising would be under the Lantham Act. In my opinion, this issue could not meet the threshold requirements to support a claim. Someone could try but I do not believe they would be successful and the claim would be dismissed. Further, I have no doubt that GM has very specific admissable evidence to back up their claim or they would never have made it.
I am an attorney as well, and I believe the technical Latin phrase you were looking for regarding such a lawsuit is:
