Yes, there are tools available to straighten our the cooling fins, but as someone pointed out, it is labor and time intensive. Oncde straightened out, they will continue to get bent from bugs, road debris etc, so you will be doing it freuently to keep the fins looking good. Someone will come up with a solution. The first time I saw a C8 and where these fins were located, I began wonding about this issue.
So since these are for the AC and not the radiators for the engine, wouldn't the only issue be reduced efficiency of the HVAC system? So the AC compressor runs a little longer, right?

We have Texas sized bugs here!
It stands to reason that if you somehow reduce the airflow to the A/C condensers in front of the radiators it will also reduce airflow to those radiators behind them!

Uh-Oh.....this will be a problem if/when my C8 ever gets here.
Summertime driving around the southern shores of lake Erie sometimes results in biblical amounts of bugs. Could almost use a snow-scraper to clean my windshield. Best bug remover I've found is to use wet dryer sheets.
I will have PPF, but it looks like I'l be doing some sort of mesh modification.
Screens would be best. For the owners that got to the track something removable would be ideal. Anything blocking the airflow will have a negative effect on cooling. On the street you should be okay.

... or a towel, bed sheet ... or a newspaper which you can just ball up and throw away when finished.
Nice pic and as in most cars the AC Condenser is always in front! In addition IF a rock hits and causes a hole It's Not Covered on warrantee! Had an issue with my C6 after about a year and not covered. Paid $800 until I got the Condenser back and proved it was a manufacturing defect. But before I was reimbursed I bought an installed a screen designed for the purpose. This is a pic of my install. Expect aftermarket will have soon.

Hey guys
i was referred to this thread by Darryl. If someone is willing to help me get some measurements I could make up some prototype radiator grille screens. Anybody interested? I can send the prototypes for testing and we can modify them until they fit. Help out the community? Let me know if you’re interested, good with a tape measure and dexterity to fit them.
Take a look through the grille of any vehicle that runs down the road at highway speeds for a few miles. They will all have the same damage. The C8 design just makes it more visible since the AC Condenser or Radiator (whatever) is buried deep in a cavity that doesn't let much light reflect back out.
Not to get off topic. But where are the ac condensers. They generally sit in front of the radiators, on almost all cars.
I’m surprised that there is not on in front of one of the radiators.
What you see ARE the ac condensers. The actual radiators sit behind them.

I'll take some measurements tomorrow and PM you with the info.

Have any idea how to install without taking the front end off??
Does that black plastic bezel come off with plastic trim tools etc??
Or perhaps from underneath with the panels removed?? Can't tell from this pic.
I design and fabricate for Radiator Grille Store. So I have designed some in my day. We try not to cover any of the body work that Chevy intended on us seeing. So the grille sits behind the stock grilles.
