Progress is a beautiful thing. 1985 C4 (my very first car I bought with my own money in 1990) and my 2020 C8. At the time I remember the C4 was just as exciting as the C8 is today. It would be interesting to know the statistics of whether new C8 owners owned previous Corvette models or whether the C8 is their first Corvette.

Congrats on your new C8. Beautiful. My C8, when it's finally built, will be my 36th Corvette from all 8 Generations. Still have my first (the 65 327/350) that I bought in High School. Here are a few. I like Corvettes. :
Our first one was a 1968..... spectacular new age styling but otherwise a piece of crap! We've had 2 other C3, plus dozens since then. That first 'piece of crap' didn't have any impact at all on our long term relationship with Corvettes. We sold our C7 last year in anticipation of the C8 HTC but because of the many delays we bought a fantastic 35th Anniversary C4 to hold us over until the new one comes. Gotta' have a Corvette in the garage.....
We've had at least one of every generation except C3. Now at status 3000 on a 2020 and still expect delivery. Our first new one was 2000 then 2010 then 2014.
After the 1983 debacle, I was totally turned off from Corvettes. I have a '12 GS, but no interest in a C8 since you can't get the main option I want. The 2021 gives you new options that people hoped would be in the 2020, like wireless carplay.
I had an '84 C4....I was 31 and it was my first brand new Corvette..It was great and back I didn't know there would be TPI the next model year..I really enjoyed that car and brought it to Florida in '89 when I moved here for good. Now hanging on for my Blade Silver coupe..at status 3000..
OP. That looks 10x better than the way Chevrolet did it. Just wow. Congrats. You knocked the tallness off the car and moved focus from areas I have yet to appreciate (if ever). The A pillar angle looks so more relaxed in black.
The wheels the way they should have offered them as well.
It looks a lot like a 488 in red with black roof.
good eye for cosmetic mods! Congrats. Nicest looking C8 thus far imo.

The C8 is a come back to Corvette for me. I've owned several (first a 76 in 1980) and I sold them at a Chevy store for over ten years. I haven't owned one now for 20 years and thought I was done with them. When I watched the reveal at 10:30 at night on July 18th I sat back and said, that is too much car for the money. $60k for a ME car that is 0-60 in 3 seconds and will actually be serviceable compared to exotics and the closest car with the same capabilities is 2 1/2 times the price, I'm in.
On a side note, I just love Capevettes garage and his fleet, just plain envious.
I have had a 01 z06, a 12 base coupe and a 17 z51. My favorite was my 01 z06. I sold it when it rolled over 160k miles. The current owner has it up to over 300k last I heard.
