Really, only a very small modification but noticeable to me, change, and I'm guessing plenty of others are doing something similar. Replaced the hex head fasteners on the engine cover with stainless socket head cap screws. There's only a minimal amount of visible fasteners, but I generally upgrade to stainless where it makes sense. (And yes, I just noticed I forgot the reattach the harness christmas tree on the front of the intake)

I prefer polished, stainless button-heads, but socket-heads are okay.

What is missing (should be attached) where blue arrow points to (?Valve Cover)?
I should have kept the original resolution.
Look at the larger image above in OP.

Nothing is missing. all C8's have this. It's some future mounting point for something or another

I've seen some pix of the red engine cover with the crossed flag in red and some with a detailed version of actual colors & details. Can anybody clarify difference? Do you buy the emblem and "stick" it on?

People have been hand-painting the logos: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-covers-4.html

I think the final answer was that the HTC has something there. A bracket for a hose or something like that.

Going back to the original poster, all I can say is "Amen"

'Moved to the Florida Panhandle about ten years ago, and am about 1/2 mile from the Gulf of Mexico.

Everything here is exposed to salt spray and Florida humidity. I discovered the hard way that Stainless Steel is about the only way to go.... on cars, on residence hardware, etc, etc. I've used stainless steel button-heads on all my cars for the last 20 years, except where grade 8 hardware is smart.
