Default Color choice....

Is there sort of a consensus on what colors display the lines and overall design of the C8 the best?

They all show the lines well. Can’t hide those lines if you wanted to.

Car is too big, IMO, for the vibrant colors in the C8 pallet! If I get moved from a 2020 now at 3000 to a 2021 the toughest decision I had to make for C8 options is back!

Yep was going to get Yellow like my 2008 Z51 C6. Just thought I'd get something other than the Red 1988, Ruby Red 1993 and Red 2014 Z51. Have a white 2017 Grand Sport but didn't want two whites in a row. But as soon as I saw the C8 Accelerate Yellow, way to much like a safety vest! Even the Atomic Orange I was planning as an option C6 is too vibrant a shade in the C8 Sebring Orange- looks even brighter than on the C7. Rapid Blue is in that same category!

A darker color looks better IMO so I selected Long Beach Red Metallic! Now for 2021 LBR is eliminated and the new Crystal Red Metallic looks, from what sketches that have been released, to also be a very vibrant color. Since I live in the sunny south don't want Black which leaves me two choices, Shadow Gray or Zeus Bronze.

Had a Datsun 260Z in Brown and when I had a large rear spoiler and large front air dam/spoiler molded into the body (both to eliminate high speed lift which they did) and all emblems removed and holes filled, the body shop owner recommended Corvette metallic brown instead of the flat Datsun Brown. Went with his suggestion and car looked great.

Perhaps the C8 Vibrant colors fit folks who dye parts of their hair green! Reminded of the Lambo Countach! That slang word in Italian translates to a reaction like "Oh My God." Don't mind folks noticing my Corvette (or I'd buy a Volt) but don't want them saying "Oh My God" when my large, angular shaped car passes by! It's longer, wider than my 2014 C7, almost as wide as my Grand Sport!

BUT UNDERSTAND- TO EACH THEIR OWN!

Are those pics of actual Silver Flare cars, or renderings? If they are of the actual cars then I'd love to see those pics.

You've seen plenty of photos of all colors. They should give a good enough idea of how they will look in person. Each of us has our bias and preferences. Only you can decide what works for you. In my case, I've had red, silver, black, dark green, dark gray, and dark blue. I still prefer the dark colors and would choose dark gray but am going with Elkhart Lake Blue. Corvettes are very low and there are too many distracted drivers so I'm hoping that color will give me an added visibility factor. I like Long Beach Red but it is not worth the additional cost to me.

Safety chest jackets are not red - too dark. Best observability is related to contrast. In the print media it is black and white. Outdoors Nothing beats the Orange or Yellow / Green for visibility reasoning.

Doesn’t that leave you 3 choices? You left out the best color of all, ELB!

Yep nice color BUT not into blue in general, just my preference.

Now a nice Metallic Green would be fine but afraid it would be a vivid color Chartreuse Green!

So, thus far, the consensus on color showing lines the best is "All the above."

Black hides a lot of the lines to me.

Maybe but it is better than white or some of the metallics.

The Bright Vivid "Safety Vest" colors do show the sharp lines more, IMO. Perhaps too much.

In addition, like the Lambo Countach, if the shape wasn't enough for folks seeing it pass to say, "Oh My God." they you could order a vivid color! It was named "Countach" because that was folks reaction to the shape alone! I prefer a more subtle colors. Can be done like I did for my Street Rod. Still gets a lot of "Great Looking Car" comments at Car Shows!

There are always ways to get attention, depends on what floats your boat!

There is no question that color is emotional. If you want to understand a shape, you need to remove the emotion and just concentrate on the shapes and forms.

The answer is Silver because White tends to flatten shapes and Black hides shapes.
