Phil, Phil, Phil . . . let me try to help you out here. Reading is fundamental.
It completely sailed right over your head that I specifically suggested they NOT tell the dealer the orderer is backing out. He shows up to complete the transaction and take delivery, and he wants the car titled to his buddy.
I read that and understood, nothing has sailed over my head. You said "that telegraphing to a dealer early that the original orderer doesn't want the car" as in don't do that, I fully understand, but if what he is doing is honorable and fair, why not be up front about it instead of "springing it" on the dealer. I'm sorry, that is just a weak, spineless, horseshit way of doing business. If you can't be straight up, you're doing something wrong. It just doesn't get any clearer than that.

It's all perfectly legal, and it's not a lie. They just show up to do a transaction just like the husband and wife. No lies are told. Dealer gets the same payment he would have gotten from the orderer.
Keeping one's mouth shut is not lying. Do you share everything with everyone you meet? You're a salesman, so do you share with customers how much you're actually making on every deal? If not, that seems to meet Phil's definition of a "spineless, horseshit way of doing business."

It's called lying by omission in this case. Do you really figure the dealer and his people are so stupid that they can't figure out what is going on? Maybe!
Not my money and I'm not learning anything new here. I already knew a long time ago that people like you figure it is just fine to lie to the dealer. I've long said my people heard more lies in a week than they told in a year!
Don't put words in my mouth. That's not what I said. I said they wouldn't question it considering the commonality of them. I never said they should pretend to be that.
I haven't put anything in your mouth. Your post infers that no one will bat an eyelash when 2 guys show up to buy a car...
Ooooohhhhh snap! Get over your self pal. You wrote a "Cryptic" comment. 1000 people are going to read it 1000 different ways. If you don't like the way people comment, don't leave yourself open for interpretation. Make sure you are home between the hours of 3-5pm. I have arranged an Amazon Drone Drop of pacifier's for you...
Am I a riot at party's? You bet! After a couple of beverage's, I break out my ventriloquist act. People ask me "how do you do that?" It's easy. I plant my tongue firmly into the side of my cheek and talk out of the side of my mouth. Oh yeah, I forgot to add a smiley face ...
