First, not crazy speeder, ever or now, but ... Ever since I received a truly unjustified ticket decades ago (i know you heard that before), i realized that the wonderful police force isn't the sharpest collection of relative speed determiners and will usually ticket the person in the left lane (that i happen to have been) almost regardless of observation. I did not own a detector back then, but ever since I have. Literally, I will ensure that I am not in the left or middle lane if it has an apparent valid detection.
I know that currently Escort Max 360(and c) and the Uniden R7 are the supposed top 2. I have had a Cobra and the purchased a newer version that eliminated other cars and their collision systems, BSMS, ... They have served me well, especially with the addition of WAZE. Now that I have another in the stable (C8), I'm choosing between the Uniden R1 $189, Cobra Rad 480i $149 or Cobra iRad $143 in that order. I debated posting this subject because even as I read reviews, opinions are always all over the place.
I did do multiple forum searches and only found an old thread (over 18 months old) in a C7 discussion or I would have started a thread elsewhere. Besides passing time until SS PL#s are available..
I currently use the best radar detector ever made. I daily use and daily drive with the Fuzzbuster II .
In over 30 years I have NEVER gotten even one ticket or had any issues with police ..... ever. NOT ONE !! This unit is fool proof and if you can ever find one and use it you will NEVER ever get a speeding ticket.
Basically this unit has the best range. PERIOD. It picks up radar, radio signals, car alarms, cordless phones, cell phone, brake squeal, people arguing loudly, most farts if they are audible and even UFO transmissions.
From the time I plug it in to the cigarette lighter outlet, to the time I unplug it, it is screaming non stop that it sees police radar. As a result you always drive as if the cop is right next to you whenever and every time you drive. Best ticket protection available.
And since it picks up any any every signal YOU NEVER SPEED EVER BECAUSE IT IS TELLING YOU THAT 24/7 365 the cop is always using radar right behind you as soon as you plug it in...... even if there are no cops, no radar, and even if you are driving on the moon.
What a ticket saver !!
Highly recommended.
P.S. make sure to get the version with the woodgrain faceplate, I am told it has better sensitivity than the black faceplate model.
Radenso for lower false alarms from BSM, but gotta spend more. I'm waiting for the Theia, but that's another story and will cost a good deal more than what you are in the market for. That's just me as I'm spending a lot on the car and want a really good detector as I will be noticed. I would still go a step or two up from what you are looking at in any of the brands.

Not answering your question directly BUT recent info shows how to power from the mirror- pic below show what was shown.
FWIW I have one of the first ESCORT Passport MAX detectors and in my rural area it's perfect for my needs. It remembers false signals like alarms on gas stations. I can also mark where I have seen speed traps (lots around here) and this neat voice announces speed trap! With now 7 years of history it's great. You can also get upgraded info in areas where there are street light cameras and it warns. None used in our area.
I prefer to mount high on the windshield to the right of the mirror so no obstruction to vision. They have some newer models. Will mount my old one as I had on my 2017 Grand Sport and tap the mirror for power.
Mounted on my C7 Grand Sport. Note I use their supplied "Sticky Mount" that has never let lose when driving BUT has a few times each summer if I park facing the sun on a hot day. You'll note a Tether I made from a Stainless fishing leader that stops the detector from hitting the dash! The few times it occurs it's just hanging from the top. Will use a small eye hook as I have in the prior Vettes.
I use this <Valentine1 Gen2>. It’s more pricey than the ones you mentioned ($500) however it features great range, outstanding BSM suppression, and is Over The Air upgradeable.

250xp, 450pro, or 1900 absurd protection?
Never knew about laser jammers until today
I saw the Valentine 1 reviews too.
For my driving needs (usually with the flow), the ones (price range) I mentioned will probably be ok. If I "do" more, I'll be on a track.
I actually got rid of my R7 and got the Valentine Gen2. It’s got the range of the R7 but along with the app it’s quieter and it’s smaller. If you are looking for a bargain then I suggest the R3. I run it in my DD and it’s the best bang for the buck. Can be had for around $270 now. I believe I paid $400 when it came out and still no regrets.
I like the situational awareness arrows provide so it is the Max 360, R7, or V1 for me. I have a V1 and will probably stick with it if I upgrade. The combination of the JBV1 app and the V1 is hard to beat.
rdforum.org has a lot of information.
Has anyone used the dedicated Rear Mirror Mounts?
Will they work with the C8's camera mirror?
Read 1 review suggesting mounting low on windshield vs up - Better Laser detection.

FWIW, few weeks ago called Blendmount Tech (to tell him someone posed how to tap mirror for power and I was planning to use my Blendmount cord.) He said they were working on a mirror mount (the most popular) but did not have a date. He thanked me for the mirror power info as it tuned out their instructions for a C7 came from a customer!
I stopped using radar detectors years ago and haven't had a ticket since. The last ticket I got was with a Valentine One radar detector that didn't jam laser but rather just informed me that I had just been tagged. The cop was smiling and wrote me for the full monty. I pay more attention now and cruise 8mph over most of the time. When I do air it out, I'm very careful where and when. Our cops use a lot of laser detection and so if you don't jam it, radar is worthless.

Yep a jammer is the only real defense against laser. A combination of a quality Radar Detector, Waze and situational awareness will do most people well against Radar. I agree if one only drives 8 over most of the time they don’t need a detector. One would be passed constantly here.

To be clear I drive as fast as the traffic around me and if a little faster not in the left lane. My 8mph rule is for general all around driving, city, highway, whatever with little or no traffic to hide behind.
I got a ticket last year while I was passing a car in my BMW Z. I went into the left lane to pass and just as I did that I saw an oncoming car in the distance in the left lane and punched the accelerator to get by the car I was passing. Turned out that the car coming towards me in the opposite lane was a county sheriff and I got a ticket for 20 mph over the 55 mph limit. Tried to explain that it was just a short burst to get by the car I was passing and get safely back into the right lane, but it fell on deaf ears. If I had been using a detector I would have known not to pass at that moment even though the car in front of me was driving me batty by driving slowly, then back up to speed, then slowly again, then back up to speed and on and on.
