Car and Driver reviewer makes me question our Natural Dipped interior. Still time to change since we are a MY 2021 allocation. But this looks really bad.
If they would stick a polarized filter on the camera you would see a big change.
I can't afford that band. If they didn't work that much better than the $19.95 ones, I'd be really pissed too.... I'm moving up to a C8, from $17,459.99 MSRP priced cars. That's not a Joke...that's why I use moniker, Poorhousenext...LOL
Big 5 will often have sales on Serengeti but you have to be careful. Not all Serengeti's are polarized. But you can get polarized ones for less than $100 when they are on sale, just not the most fashionable ones.
Reviewers have been consistent who have driven the natural dipped interior cars. Do not get it. It looks amazing, don’t get me wrong. I think it’s the prettiest by far. But after watching all the YouTube videos from Chevy Dude’s 3LT review (search Corvette c8 3LT and you’ll find it) to the review by I believe it was Carfinder where the reviewer drove in one and said it was horrendous for glare problems, this kept me from putting it in my car - which I hated. I went with tan instead. What the other person said about tan is true - you’re going to see the three reflective lines of tan on the dash in certain sunlight - but that’s WAY better than your whole field of view obscured by glare. As for the comment on polarized lenses and angle of polarization - I can only speak to my own experience. Polarized lenses will LESSEN windshield glare, but this same light reflection is exactly how your HUD display works, As a result, in my C7 and my Camaro SS, when I wore any type of polarized sunglasses, my HUD was dimmed down about 75-80% such that it was very dim at maximum intensity setting. So ask yourself, do you want to drive the car with little or no-HUD and significant glare if you don’t wear the glasses, or just get a different interior where your visibility will be minimally or not affected at all? Again, trust me when I say, I would have gotten that same interior - but I watched all the videos on YouTube I could find of the same interior from the drivers perspective and that killed it for me. If you get it though, come back and tell us what you REALLY think. Becaus I’d love to hear from an owner who isn’t afraid to knock it if it’s bad - it will save a lot of 2021 or future buyers who are on the fence like you from making a bad decision!
Good luck!!!
I have used the Serengeti brand of polarized mineral sunglass for years and the hud is visible without much reduction in brightness.

Well, I can say for a "Fact", I don't think anyone would call me "Fashionable" since 1971....LOL Blue Jeans & T Shirt, no socks since...
If you or anyone get a chance to ride in a C8 or own one with natural dip interior, I'd like to know if the Serengeti's or others can make the dash glare bearable. It's what I ordered back in Sept 2019. Should have it in hand in Oct,. Clip-ons want work for me, I only had to wear reading glasses, for last 7 years.
Stupid design flaw, and the those gimmicky shapes boost the distraction to 11.
The top of the dash should be a simple uniform shape covered in some kind of flat black material, like Alcantara.

Funny thing is, I'm considering getting cheap sunglasses after breaking my umpteenth pair of expensive glasses.
One thing to keep in mind about Serengeti's is they are photochromic (get darker with exposure to UV light) and modern windshields block most of the UV light so they won't be very dark while driving. I don't like dark sunglasses in low light conditions so this works for me but it may not be for everyone. But they still seem to do a decent job at reducing the glare.
You're doing the right thing by testing with a light colored object reflecting on a windshield. One way to evaluate them for reducing windshield reflections is to look at the reflection through them while rotating them. You want to see minimal reflection when they are horizontal (like you'd be wearing them) and maximum reflection when they're vertical. Some glasses will be polarized "off plane" and you don't want those.
I still have my broken Serengeti's and will use them to compare the effectiveness of cheap sunglasses. I'll report back if I find a cheap pair that seem to work OK. I'll likely go photochromic and polarized so they may not be for everyone.
I don't think my car will be here any sooner than yours.
