1LT here and the visibility is a non-issue for me. With the side mirrors adjusted properly you can see the blind spots perfectly. I've driven it in rush hour NYC traffic with no issues at all. I'm so happy I didn't pop for the 2LT as I was considering as it would have mostly been for the blind spot assistance.
Wireless Phone Charging---- this right here while nice in theory and I do use it.. it's in a horrible spot. My arm doesn't bend that way very easily to put it into place.
Bose Performance Series 14-Speaker Audio System ---- This is the best stock system I've ever heard in a car. I like to feel my music and turning it up halfway is a perfect spot for that. With my C7, with the top down I could barely hear the radio, not the same with this at all.
What is the take rate on Trim Levels for 2020 ? I thought I saw somewhere that 1LT cars were a pretty small percentage.
I'm sure it is small. There are different mind sets on the car. For me, I just wanted THE CAR. I'm old school so if a car has PW, PL, power seats, tilt, cruise, and air, it's loaded. A bunch of folks are of the mind set that they never buy a "stripper' (regardless of content) and for the extra money the car was so affordable in the first place, why not. There are also those that have become accustom to and dependent on side warning, cameras, etc., etc., and think they need it. I'm not saying safety is a bad thing, it's not, but I also drive heads up and keep my surroundings accounted for and where others are around me at all times. I survived on the street for over 30 years on a motorcycle and that is Navy SEAL level training for defensive driving (if you're going to make it). I wanted a new Corvette, not necessarily a loaded Corvette. The only three items I would use in 2LT or 3LT Homelink visor, seat memory, front parking camera, and those items aren't worth thousands of $ to me.
It seems we have this comment on every new generation. Learn to use your mirrors correctly.
I've only owned the C7 and C8, but I've had 16 cars in 20 years, many of them 2 door (transam/challenger/camaro/etc) and all I can say is this car is by far the worse I've ever been as far not seeing anything beside/behind you. The reason I posted this was just to give my own personal insight after driving the car for a month if anyone is ordering and on the fence. My personal thoughts after driving with and without the 'flashy technostuffs' is I wouldn't even consider the 1LT personally if I had known what I do now. I'm glad those that got the 1LT are happy with their purchase and don't find it an issue. To each their own.
I don’t have my C8 yet but I just learned if I order the HTC the rear view mirror camera comes standard, so I don’t need the 2LT trim to get that feature. I’m stuck getting the 2LT trim anyway because I need the front lift option which is not offered on the 1LT trim.

FYI - this is a helpful post and much appreciated. I am on the fence between 1LT and 2LT, and am actually thinking of getting a 1LT HTC, since the HTC comes standard with the rear camera (and the HTC option costs about the same as 2LT). Since the rear camera comes with the HTC, the main thing i will miss from the 2LT is the front camera. i have a 2016 2LT right now and i really like using the front camera for parking (i thought the front camera was not a big deal, until i started using it). I am looking into after market front cameras that are not too much of a hassle to install.
Anybody who thinks 1LT is a stripper hasnt ever been inside a stripper.
plenty of luxury items in a 1LT..
took me about 20 minutes to get used to the awesome view out front...and the small rear window..its not a big deal with the mirrors unless you are used to driving cuv s etc...
if you cant be flexible to use mirrors than the camera rearview mirror is a nice way to go.
on internet forums people exaggerate their points possibly just because its a typed instead of spoken word?
Im at a thousand miles and two weeks of ownership. Im digging my c8 z51 fe4 1LT.
surpringly i havent heard a lot of complaints about how quiet the npp exhaust is inside the cabin even in loud modes.
my biggest hint for those that dont want z51...then skip the npp because its so quiet..
thats a bigger deal in my opinion than any luxury item,

keep in mind the rear camera is only available when the top is up. Top down, you're driving old school.
Good thread. Just bought a new low-rider upscale Impreza Sport DD. Handles like a sports car. It's my training wheels for my 2021 next spring. Got a lot of high tech safety features that I'm adjusting to. After more than a half century since my SWC you would think this vette would have it all, high tech safety, as standard equipment. Chev did add a no-cost mirror on the passenger side over the years. Good to be in training w/more time to consider the options over the winter.
edit: I already experienced cutting a notch into a curb at my bank. Told the wife I damaged the entire front end after checking it out . Momentarily forgot it was not my SUV anymore. Front camera may be on the list either option wise or aftermarket.

Didn't read thread... have a 1LT. Visibility is a non-issue. Have 3,200 miles on the car now and 2 track weekends. View out the rear is about the same as my C7 coupe was. I drove a car with the camera mirror at the NCM track and didn't care for it because the view point was not what my brain was expecting sitting in the car. I'm sure it's something you get used to.

Knowing what you know about the forum, I APPLAUD you for posting your opinions which we all have, on this forum. It is your experience which is just as valid as anyone else's.
And as to adjusting your mirrors correctly being the solution, it is not always. And that is my opinion. And I have been doing it since 1994 on about 14 different cars, plus all rental cars I've had, as well as all friend's cars I've driven (with permission, of course). Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
For that reason, I am very happy to read Daemek's opinion and maybe I will get a ride someday in an HTC to see how it feels to "see out"---both to the back and to the right rear. Maybe others reading his post wlll also note his take on this matter. YMMV
I suspect one issue with this new C8 is admiration from other drivers trying to check it out right beside you in the dead zone. Much like traffic that builds up besides a police car with no passing it. If so, you may have to speed up to change lanes safely as was stated before.
When I first began to drive a delivery truck it took some adjustment not having a rear view mirror to see what was behind me. Much more so than driving a car obviously given what you can do with a 30ft long 10ft high van vs any car. But you adapt and overcome and it becomes normal.

No... it's because it's 98% as good as the view out the rear of the C7. The rear glass on that car was long and narrow with long sail panels on the hatch as well. If you've driven a C5 Z06 or convertible or a C7 coupe the C8 1LT is a non-issue.
