Congrats, Went to 3000 mid-march.. - 3400 on Friday TPW 10/3 Vin #13159 Matrix Gray, red calipers, glass roof,HP exhaust, black fender stipes and black rocker accent ..Getting anxious..sold my 2017 Long Beach Red / Kalihari interior June 6th.. The wait begins ..
Thanks all. The 1LT interior is amazing considering it is the base option. The materials are great and on par with my previous Audi A8 and current Volvo S90. I dont miss the HUD or any of the other options and the GT1 seats fit me great. The only feature I feel the car needs is blind spot monitoring, but I have fixed that issue with the little mirror attachment another forum member linked on a different post. Now to get 500 miles on the car before heading to the track (November 8, Dominion Raceway, hope to see some of you there).
Thanks, I have seen the 1,500 mile recommendation before tracking the car. I just do not see the harm. I plan to go 7/10ths at best and watch the revs. I know it is a different car, but I had less than 80 miles on my 08 Z06 when I took it to Pitt Race for the first time. I had that car for 6 years, many track days and zero issues. The wild card for me is the DTC, so I plan on adding the additional 2 quarts and watching the trans temps.

I saw this car and here are my C8 initial impressions. I was surprised how well equipped a 1LT is. Sitting in it you cannot really tell it is a base equipped model. Doesn't really change my desire to get a 2LT but I could easily live with a 1LT. My daughter asked if those were the upgraded seats. I had to ask myself the same question because they look fantastic and are very comfortable. I was impressed with the paint. Two Comments: First, the Ceramic Grey Matrix looks remarkably light in color. I expected a darker look from the name. That said, I love the color. Second, Bowling Green has done a great job compared to the C7s I've seen. Very little orange peel compared to previous generations. Still there if you're looking for it but not noticeable. The wheels are super sharp too. Loved the sound of a cold start. The NPP really barks at startup. Much like my C7 but even better. Getting in and out wasn't difficult even inside my garage. Paul drove down from Richmond to Poquoson this week and we installed a bikini cut PPF and Ceramic window tint. I thought the C8 was an easy install compared to C7s. I had heard PPF on C8s were difficult which is why many shops were charging more. Don't believe it. There were some tight curves on some of the grill with the carbon flash curves but my daughter installed those with no problem. We got it all done in 8 hours including the window tint. Now that it's protected from rocks and debris, enjoy the track this weekend! Can't wait to get my C8. I'm sub 260 now on the 2021 MacMulkin list.
This is the first time I've met a fellow Forum member and I'm thrilled it happened. I'm sure to take you up on the offer to have you instruct me on the track Paul! That sounds awesome.
