Instead of being integrated into the harness they put a single wire in with an inline fuse underneath the back seat carpet.
It took me a while to figure out why the engine wasn't getting fuel when the fuse blew. As I remember, the switch was bypassed when the starter motor was cranking. So the car would start but wouldn't continue to run.
I owned a 1973 Fiat 124 Sport Spider with 1600cc motor, and it had a mechanical fuel pump. I replaced that motor with an 1800cc motor from a 1978. They both had mechanical pumps. I had to buy a replacement pump for it.

It was a 128 (as I remember - it was a customer's car). I guess I should have said some FIATs.
By the way, I used to have a 124 Sport Spider also. It was a fun car but I wish they had used rack and pinion steering.

I wanted to upgrade to a Spider 2000 with fuel injection. I loved that car and drove it from VA to AZ when I moved there, and to San Diego a bunch of times. I owned it from 1986 to 1999, then donated it to a Fiat club. So easy to work on compared to cars these days. In 2000 I bought a new Toyota MR2 Spyder to replace it. I still own that one since it is more fun than the Fiat. That is my Mid-Engine to get me by until I buy a C8 in a couple years.
