Among the vast number of things I do not know about is window tinting. I bought my C6 with 2000 miles on it and I think some window tint. If it was tinted it was subtle.
Do the new cars come off the line with any tinting on the side windows?
Should I tint the windshield? Is it legal to do so? If so, how much? I hate to rely on the word of a tint salesman who is trying to make a buck.
Same question for the side windows. I will tint them but, again, how much?
I have seen comments for a tint called Stratos. Supposed to be high quality. Any other recommendations?
Thanks in advance.

Forget about the salesman, check out your states DMV window tinting regs, that's a good guideline. I'm sure there is a factory tint on the C8.
There should be an ASI imprint mark on the windshield, tinting is not allowed below that mark. Most DMV's will issue a window tint waiver if you have a skin or eye ailments requiring tint.
What you should look at is 70% ceramic film. Its basically clear but cuts down like 90% of UV and IR. This guy has a pretty good demo if not a bit long.
I got my side windows tinted with XPEL XR PLUS Window 30%. I had the same 30% tinted on my C7 and put 33,000 driving all over the country encountering hundreds of police cars along the way with no issues. I think the whole talk about better stay within legal limits of state laws is just that, talk. As far as how it effects night visibility since I don’t driving that much as night it’s not a factor to me.
With XPEL XR PLUS tint the windows stay cool to the touch even driving in the hot Florida sun.
