C8 disappointment
However, after seeing several C8s in person now, I’m a little less excited. I wish the car were smaller. They could have maybe done away with the trunk and put the targa up front or something. It wasn’t like I had storage in the C7 when the top was stowed.

Never know when it will be your last! But at 78 feel great, exercise 7 days a week and hope to get a Grand Sport. But in the mean time LOVE my C8!

The one thing I was concerned about was excess Oversteer as I had in my 2 Corvairs with similar 60% rear weight. One was my '67 with parallelogram rear suspension, and modified with Plus 1 performance radial tires, headers, etc. Even Tadge, who said when he was a teenager, his Dad had a Porsche and being a military pilot drove it aggressively. He said he knew all about excess Oversteer. In the Autoline 1 hour interview, he said "Oversteer was is biggest fear when designing the C8" (considering his age his Dad's Porsche would have been about the Corvair era!) Fact is both were fun to drive once you learned if going too fast for a turn, (or forced there by traffic) you had to steer the opposite of a FE skidding car. You only had a fraction of a second to steer properly (like Smoke in the pic below) or be off the road - rear first. Tadge said it took Porsche decades to solve the issue and they had to get it right the 1st time- and they did!
Tony Stewart steering his dirt car as was needed with Corvairs and Porsches of the era in a high speed skid. Had a fraction of a second to get it right!

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

Foolish and the C8 Forum has many of those who feel obligated to post negative comments, not owning and never will.
Appears to me they fit Aesop Fable!

There are in fact a certain number of every make, model, and year of car that have problems. No secret there.
