It's like nothing else. My wife and I went to lunch with a buddy and his wife, they have a C7 convert. Thanks to the WuFlu it was outdoor seating only, we both parallel parked right next to the seating area and had lunch. Every single person that was there came up and asked about the C8, some asked if they could take pictures. The next day, my buddy just couldn't believe not person said a word about his car, I didn't know what to say.

No upside for a Lambo to race a Corvette...

I guess it wouldn't be no upside for the lambo driver since his car looks better, will draw more attention and is an actual supercar compared to my C7Z but still. I just wanted to run for fun. I would probably lose but never know, maybe my car is actually faster. That's why i wanted to play a bit.

If you're talking about the honda thing, then i'm not saying he should race anyone that baits him. But to call a honda driver an idiot because he's driving a honda? I guess that's what the lambo driver probably thought about me. "he's only driving a cheby, not even wasting my gas on that".

I for one don't like the extra attention on the road.. at gas stations, car shows, coffee shops, etc, then yes. There's nothing like the feeling of having something that others consider special and sharing the fun is part of the experience. I especially want the younger generation to appreciate the car, like how I became obsessed with sports cars at a younger age. I never forgot the sports cars I saw and fell in love with when I was young.

But in the past when I've had specialty cars that get a lot of attention it seems like every idiot comes out of the woodwork and wants to race. I'm talking guys in minivans, motorcycles zipping by, Hyundai's... riding your ***, racing by then pulling in front of you cutting you off, etc. I've experienced it first hand over and over. Perhaps it's just the big city or where I'm at, but it's more of a safety thing than anything to me.

I fear the jackass trying to show off next to me crashing into my car/causing a crash, and if it's not injury that's a concern it could be they have no insurance or even end up blaming me for what happened (I always have my dash cam for this though).

So pictures and thumbs up.. all for it! The wreckless attention.. I avoid. I never encourage speed or give in to anyone trying to race.

Even if you had a C8, I still don’t see an upside for the Huracan driver. He has a super car, he doesn’t have anything to prove. If he wins it’s expected, if he loses he’s embarrassed. No upside.

Well if he wins, that means he can send me home crying because i have an inferior car. That is an upside to him.

And even if he loses, he still goes home with a real supercar. And i go home in a cheby.

Idk, i just saw him drive pretty aggressively so i thought he would play around. And he was, he just didn't want to line up to have one clean pull. Car definitely look good though. I was super jealous.

But you just proved my point, lol. Even without “playing,” he sent you home crying because you have an inferior car, a “Cheby” while he has a Lamborghini.

Don’t get me wrong, the C8 is a great car, mine will be built in 2 weeks. But it’s not a Hurican.

There's a beautiful orange Huracan I see cruising through town once or twice a week. I commend the guy for driving his car and enjoying it... So I passed him in my C8 today heading in opposite directions and I thought to myself if I would rather have bought a Huracan... Honestly, I don't know if I would enjoy it as much as my C8. Sure the Huracan sounds great, looks great and has more prestige but I love getting a bargain... The Huracan would make a decent size dent in my finances where the C8 is just kind of luxury car money these days and it does everything the Huracan does to a good degree and it's just easier to live with. In fact as we were both cruising along the beach, I had my top down and he can't do that... Even if he had the Spyder it would still be a ragtop... Maybe someday when I'm like 70 or 75 and if I have way more money than I can spend in the 10 or 15 years maximum I would have left I'd get the comparable car to a Huracan... You see that a lot in Florida... A guy I know of average means in his mid 70's shocked me the other day when he told me he bought a $400k motor home... He said his kids would just **** away the money anyway so he mays as well beat them to it... lol

True that.

I mean i didn't go home crying though because we didn't race. So in my eyes, i won because he didn't want to race

Yesterday, a guy said would I be insulted if he offered to take his 1974 Ford Pinto for my C8. My response was “Yes”

i bought the car in march put 9000 miles on it, tell you the truth, people still don't recognize the car, they mistake it for a Lambo more than a Ferrari but everyone loves, complement and they always take pictures of the car.
personally, i haven't seen any c8 except at meet and great,
FYI my zo6 with black rap gets lots of attention as well
GM gets an A for c7
and gets an A++ for the c8,

Your C8 looks really nice in your photo - can you post more? I'm leaning Sebring Orange but Red, Black, and White are making me question.

Wait till you have a 20 or 55 year old vette And you still get attention.
Then you will have something to brag about.
The new car smell and wax are long gone.
Good luck

Why own an old car to get the attention?

Newer is always better.

By the time I pull the trigger, the uniqueness factor will have worn off.

I've only got a few thumbs up on my C7 over the past three years and only a few on my C5 over the four years that I had it.

Strangely enough, my C4 back in the nineties used to get constant compliments.
