Eagerly awaiting my C8 and am curious on how often current owners get stopped, talked to, etc.. I had a C7 and would get complimented a few times a week. I can only imagine the Attention the C8 draws.
If I drive into town, every single time. Someone yelling from another car at a light, or someone walking down the street. Every time I stop for gas. Every time I park anywhere. Shocking how many people offer to keep it for a weekend for me if I can't drive it. What nice people.
Even in LA where people see a Bugatti driving down the street, I get asked and complimented about it a lot.
I think part of it is that many are curious about it. I get asked "How is it?" or "How does it drive?". Someone asked me what its like as a daily driver. With Ferrari the biggest question I would get is "How much did you pay for it?" or "What do you do for a living?"
I think that has some of the interest of the Corvette. People already understand a Corvette is not ridiculously expensive so they may just be able to justify owning one.
Some don't recognize it as a Corvette at all. Most recognize it as a Corvette but say it looks like a Ferrari or Lambo. Everyone says it looks good.
The novelty will wear off when more cars hit the streets. I don't view this as a long term situation.
The same as all corvettes when their new. Depends on how much you drive it. It’s the same with most sports cars. After awhile you get use to it. After a couple years the compliments get less and less

I had a very early C7 Convertible from the first month production run. The C8 convertible gathers a lot more attention.
I think its because its so very much different and obviously mid engine with the short hood.
It will burn out as people see more of them. But there is something to the design that attracts people that I don't think will wear off. It is an attractive design people appreciate.

I no longer have my C8, but I have not had any car that got as many compliments as I did in that car. EVERYONE loved it. The C8 just looks so damn good.
Twice the guy in front jumped out and started to take pictures. Got stop by 2 cops since March, in both cases I was standing still and they ask me to pull over away from traffic ,both took pictures and asked a lot of questions. Hope one of these guys pull me over when I’m doing 110 mph on the local parkway , bet I’ll get off.
Literally every time I drive it. The fact that’s it’s Sebring Orange makes it stand out even more (although all the colors look good, Orange is not a common color around here).
Pictures, waves, thumbs up, etc. It makes my wife nervous “why is everyone looking at us”... ha ha
When i had my C6, no one really looked. Even though it looked pretty good. Widebody, dropped with nice wheels (lower offset) etc. Dark tints, long tubes so it was loud. But the only people that really looked are like 60 year old dudes or other guys that are "into cars".
Traded that, got the C7Z and A LOT MORE people looked. Everywhere i went, thumbs up, people breaking their neck, people staring at gas stations. I see people pull out their phone still when i'm cruising the highway. Definitely a good feeling.
I'm sure the C8 will draw even more attention, especially when the other variants come around. People are attracted to cars that not only look good, but cars they don't see often. I don't see corvettes often. And i live in a densely populated area. When i do see corvettes, it's always some dude in the middle lane going 10mph below the speed limit.
On a side note, i had my hands on a 2020 bmw M850i. White, dark tints, black wheels, all stock.
NOW THAT car gets a lot of attention lol. Moreso than any other car i've driven or owned (my friend has his own dealer that's how i was able to drive the M850I).
The difference i see in driving a corvette vs driving something else performance/luxury wise, is that you get way more attention from girls lol.
All the attention the car gets is kind of fun. I was concerned it would be over-board before I got the car but people have been respectful. The car seems to genuinely make people happy. Thumbs up, smiles, compliments, pictures, videos and questions about it. GM did a phenomenal job on this car and it bodes well for what the company can do. The Corvette is referred to as America’s sports car and I can see that in people’s reactions. It is a representation of what we are capable of and competing globally. They really knocked it out of the park with the redesign and deserve all the accolades they are getting. It was definitely worth the wait.
Have a black/ adrenaline red and black interior. Every time i take it out...stop lights, parking, cruising, took to my local Ceramic Pro shop to have it inspected and couldn’t get out for 30 minutes. My favorite was the guy at a light rolled the window down and asked “is that the Batmobile”. Other best was a elderly woman who asked
“is that a McLaren”. My wife hates going out in it because it takes forever to get in and out of wherever we are. I love talking about it and sharing stories with guys that used to have “one”. I’ve had seven Vette’s over many, many years. This is clearly the one Vette that has garnered the most attention. can’t explain how proud I am of my C8 baby!!!
As others have said... Pretty much every time out of the garage. Waves, thumbs ups, honks...
I went to a Cars and Coffee on sat... Known for being a pretty high end one (in addition to Ferraris, lambos, astons, etc there was a Senna and Ford GT on display for reference) and the C8 got a ton of attention.
