ie GM wouldn't process any order without an allocation.
GM won't move an order to 2000 or beyond without an allocation, but this seems to be saying that an order cannot even be entered into Order Workbench (many 1000's of orders already sitting at 1100 without allocations).
Unless the dealer has an allocation, they can't enter them anyway. This could also mean they have to be marked retail-sold to be matched with a GM allocation.

It says “remains”, so I would assume it is. Previously though, I was under the impression GM required all allocations be SRE-SOLD as opposed to “stock”, but was told here dealers could indeed take allocations for themselves. If they could and now they can’t they shouldn’t say “remains”. Perhaps they wan’t to limit dealer gouging on stock orders?
Perhaps it's because of unscrupulous dealers like this ? I inquired about a 2020 on Car Guru that was listed above MSRP. Below is their response on 12/7
"Thank you for your request. We got in 10 corvette's Friday. 4 of the 10 have sold and don't expect the others to last long.
All unsold 20s are going for more than MSRP
coupe MSRP plus 15000.
Convertible MSRP plus 20000.
They have already turned down many offers. But feel free to make one
But the four above that sold . Sold at numbers mentioned

I get that these are business people in the game to make money, but this is robbery.
GM obviously underpriced this car -- demand is so out of whack compared to supply. Hate to say it, but they should raise MSRP $5k and see what that does to demand.

Perhaps, but this salesman could be (and likely is) blowing smoke up his outflow valve about demand and sales prices. It’s pretty much S.O.P.

I disagree. It says nothing about order entry. Only "processing". Which is no different than it's ever been. Crystal clear.
OMG on Kevin Whitaker Chevy. Very rude to me also. They are one of the few Dealerships in the top 20 that are not selling at MSRP. Supply vs Demand. Until the folks with the attitude " Prices no problem" get their fill of the C8's it will go on. I suspect when the Z06 makes it entrance the supply of used C8 will fill the demand.

Thanks for exposing this. Let's hope GM sees this and doesn't give this dealership a single allocation in future years. Very simple to weed out then crooks.
Perhaps they are saying, that they are not expecting any allocated cars to go used, so you can't just get a car that you have no allocation for, like you can on some models at some times. Like a dealer has an allocation for 20 Malibus, but has 50 on the lot and says, I only want 10, so that means someone who needs 10 more than they have been allocated, can pick those allocation up.

Yup! This same dealer is the exact reason I went to MacMulkin.
LMAO I see this thread probably going to cause lots of problems with dealers now dealing with customers e-mailing them worried they not getting a vehicle.
Probably to cut down on all those order#'s that stand no chance of being filled, yet GM has to pay the Corvette Concierge to hopelessly reply to.
While could be a factor and true serves no purpose for that message when GM themselves haven't gave out total yearly allocations. So why state this when you only giving allocations to certain dealers in bulk and then not telling others so they can be honest instead of saying we think we will get this many because that's what we got before.
The message seems all to familiar to just be a reminder to announce to dealers to not enter all your orders at once clogging up the system and account and keep track of they own orders and deposits on a internal basis and only enter those needed when allocations are given.
IMO: GM is trying to get the real demand so they can do long range forecast to there suppliers. If two people place 1100 workbench orders one at 3 different dealerships and the other at 2 dealerships then GM sees a forecast of 5 vehicles. Not true they only need two. If the dealership cannot place an order in workbench unless they have an allocation that takes care of the over forecast problem. It would cut down on all of the questions about where is my car and what code am I at.
