Default Winter delivery

Sorry if I have posted in the wrong place but I wanted to share some information.
I ordered My car in August 2019. I was told a year wait. After 15 months, I was told I was first on the list for a 2021 and would get it in early spring as they do not do winter delivery up in Canada. Well I got a call yesterday saying it is on the truck to the dealer today and I should have it in two weeks. Sounds great but now I have no place to put the car for the winter as I have no garage. Normally it would be down south with me all winter but do to Covid, I can’t drive down.
I am happy it is coming finally but a little shocked as well.

The simple solution would be to rent a storage garage for a few months.

Because of COVID? Be like some, wear a mask while picking it up, and while driving. I bet dollars to donuts, you’ll survive.

And I thought you were worried about snow!

Maybe I misunderstood your situation.

If it’s not snowing, drive the thing home. It’s not going to rust by he time you’re done with it.

why can’t you drive it because of covid?

I am not worried about picking it up and driving it home at all nor am I worried about Covid. My whole point was I was told no deliveries in winter so I planned for spring. My money to pay for it is locked up until March and I have no where to put it as I have no garage anymore. After waiting 17 months, and selling my C6 a year ago, I can’t wait to bring it home. I just wanted people to know that up here in Canada they do deliver in the winter when they never used to according to my dealer.

I usually take the car with me down south for the winter but due to Covid, the borders are closed to car travel so I am stuck up here. Picking it up is no problem, I am excited to get it I just was not expecting it until spring. I drive my vettes year round and put about 40k on them per year so it will get driven. I just love driving them so I do not care about putting the miles on them.

Rent a storage space till spring. I wouldn't leave it outside all winter.

Do you plan to drive the C8 year round? Could just pick it up then. But if you plan to garage it when snows, then i get it. I got mine in early December, luckily my entire trip was without much in the way of weather. I got very lucky! Mine is in the garage during Winter, but will be my main driver during all other months.

Dealership can more then likely hold onto the car as you won't be the first person to have not wanted delivery in winter.

The no winter delivery myth for Canada was debunked weeks ago, sadly a lot of Canadian dealers are small and uninformed.

Do not get me started on that! Lol
I happen to be an honest visitor to the states that owns a home down there. I do not over stay my welcome but have been tempted!

Let your dealer display it for the winter.
