Default Interior Colors

Okay, I'm driving myself nuts. I am ordering the Red Mist exterior, and was going to get the "Natural" interior, but the photos I've seen makes the color of the tan material look a little too "yellowish", so I am considering the two tone grey, which I think picks up the silver color nicely from the wheels. Any opinions out there? I'm exhausted...

Think when I put my order in this spring, I'm going to go the safe route. 3LT, black interior with red stitch, microfiber seat and steering wheel. This should also get me the alcantera trim pieces on the glovebox, doors, center console.
I was entertaining the 2 tone natural/black for a while, but the tone of the natural had me second guessing it as well.

I don't think the natural is yellow, its a light brown, lighter then the outgoing kalahari tan they used to have, but certainly not yellow. I'd pick natural over the sky cool grey everytime, in fact I ordered natural, the grey looks incredibly white.

Your car, pick what you like, but probably better to try and see the colours in person to make your decision.

I am in the same situation. Red Mist/Natural but with black two tone. The recent video on the forum looked yellowish, the Chevrolet.com site looked darker. I need to see Natural in person to get an accurate visual of this interior color.

I currently have Crystal Red/Cashmere and it looks great!

The natural to me also looks too yellow. I know it's popular here on the forum and to each their own but the natural is not for me. I think it will be very hard to keep clean and I have noticed with colors like natural it shows the cracks or stretch wear marks that show up eventually.

Of course everyone is going to tell you to choose what you like the best, but I completely understand wanting others peoples thoughts. Especially people who already have a C8. I would agree with others that the natural is not yellow and "I THINK" it would look great with the Red Mist, however, you should be able to find a C8 with natural interior near you that you could take a look at before obligating yourself. Probably not Red Mist since it is a new color, but certainly one with the natural interior. Pretty hard to beat the look of the natural with any red. I do agree that the black with red stitching is nice as well. My taste would not be the grey, but there are many flavors of ice cream for a reason. I would definitely suggest trying to find one near you and take a look for yourself. Mine is Rapid Blue with the two tone blue interior and I absolutely love the colors, but when I saw good pictures of the Red Mist, I fell in love. Incredible color that should have been available for the 2020 in place of the LBRM. I might have gone with that instead. The exteriors look so different depending on the lighting, but the interior really doesn't change appearances. Good luck, you are gonna love the car and I'm sure the colors that you choose as well.

Sometimes it's the little things that matter to some also. I was considering torch red with sky cool gray (my first Corvette I bought in 1980 was bright red with white leather seats), but the sky cool gray is the only color that they don't include the stripe on the steering wheel. I kinda like the stripe and so I have an arctic white car with adrenaline red interior.

Two thoughts:
1. I too am considering the natural interior with red mist and think it will look phenomenal. In the video below at 13;07 there is a red mist with natural interior. Ignore the tool narrating, but I would note the lighting is making it look more yellow.
2. Do NOT get the two tone gray. Blech. Red mist has some warmth and gold to it. A cool gray will look off against the Red Mist, IMHO.
3. Ok, three thoughts. If your nervous, get black with red stitching.

Stick with your first instinct, and get the natural interior. Against the red, with the top down it will look sweet. Very Ferrari, and I think that’s a compliment.

They have a 2 tone seat with black and natural leather. This color combo really tones down the natural color a bunch so it doesn't overpower the look. It's a great look with Red Mist. Go check it out using Chevy's visualizer..

I'm going nuts as well. Ordered natural but my 2 LT RM HTC is at 3000. Lots of the pix I see are mostly 3lt natural dipped and they look yellow in the photos. I went with 2LT because i didn't like the whole interior to be natural ,just wanted a little breakup of the black. Now I'm worried. I love my Kalahari C7 and hope I won't be disappointed as I expected the natural to be more of a tan not yellow looking.

I have the natural and black and love it. Black dash and no reflection. Does not look yellow. Interior fiber is nice.

I’m going with morello dipped—subtle and rich looking compared to natural

I had a 3LT Kalahari Crystal Red Metallic Tintcoat 2014 Z51. Have Natural Dipped with my Long Beach Red Metallic Tintcoat 2020 C8 Z51. Both look great.

GM hooked me again with a 3LT only because of the Natural Dipped color. Love it and get most complements about the interior. No way would I get gray. Only other choice for me would be Black and then I'd get a 2LT

Your Car Your Choice.

I've had two Magnetic Reds, a C5 and C6 which I presently own. The C5 had Oak interior and the C6 has Cashmere. Both colors are in the light tan family.

Would probably have ordered Red Mist for my C8 if it had been available for 2020. Had I ordered Red Mist, it most likeky would have been with the 3LT natural. But I, too, would have wanted to put my eyes on it first. No doubt I would have gone with the body-colored moldings, chrome emblems and Spectra Gray Tridents, but would like to see the optional pewter wheels on this color combo. Had those on my C5 and the pewter really complimented the gold flakes in that paint; not sure whether that's in Red Mist.

Keep searching for more pictures or locate one you can see in person. Then order the one you want.

Lot of sky cool haters on the thread! I ordered mine like this. It's 2LT so it's got more black than the sky cool 3LT. I think it looks nice.

Personally, if I have any color regrets, it would be not doing Elkhart blue with natural dipped. However, I'm just not into the idea of driving blue cars. If you want a color combo that really pops, elkhart + natural dipped + body color trim + polished wheels! Super hot.

There is a stripe on the steering wheel with the two tone Sky Cool Gray - Only the stripe is the same black leather as the rest of the wheel. I intend to dye that stripe Gray

Interesting that you would ditch your preferred interior colour over having a stripe on the steering wheel. The stripe on the steering wheel is not something that I like. Having said that it would look a lot better if it was 50% of the width it is. It looks way thick when it does not need to be. A narrower stripe would look far better.

Feel the same way! My first Vette (a 1988) was Red with Black interior as was my 3rd a Yellow C6 (my 2nd was a '93 40th Anniversary with matching interior to the car color, Ruby Red Metallic.

Loved my Crystal Red Metallic Tintcoat 2014 3LT Kalahari interior. Then GM got "cheap' in 2016 and made most 3LT's look like a patch work quilt, IMO. When I bought my 2017 Grand Sport was ready to just get "safe" Black interior again but saw an Adrenalin Red interior and wife liked it. So ordered a 2LT that didn't have the "Patch Work Quit" look.

GM hooked me with the Natural Dipped interior so got a 3LT C8. BTW it has about 12 inches of BLACK dash near the windshield compared to the small strip on my 2014 Kalahari. Yep some glare around HUD, more like a hallo I see right through but most "glare" on a bight sunny day (we have a lot of in Eastern SC) is NOT where looking straight ahead. An issue if watching birds!

Here are some pics that may be of interest:

After 2014 and 2015 GM got "cheap" and reduced the amount of interior color on 3LT's except for a few special cars similar to my exclusive 40th Anniversary Ruby Red where the car and interior color matched for a premium price like "Spice Red." IMO looked like a "Patch Work Quilt" so got a 2LT Grand Sport.

ALL 3LT BELOW

I love the way my natural looks, and think it would compliment your Red Mist very well.
I get compliments all the time on my "gold" seats. Anyone walking up to the car sees the natural accents on the dash right through the windshield, and it really does appear to be yellow/orange depending on the lighting. It is definately more gold than Ferrari Beige Tradizione is tan. It is not as brown as saddle or Ferrari Cuoio is.

I tend not to like gray interiors and find them a bit bland, especially compared to the reds, and burgundy available as options (please don't do red on red).
