Default C8 Gas Preference

Corvette Family,

While i wait for my new ‘21 C8 to arrive, i have a few questions. Firstly, this is my first corvette. What type of gas do you recommend? What’s your favorite brand of gas? Exxon, shell, Valero, etc... How do you trust the attendant to fill it up for you for states that don’t allow you to do it yourself? I want to make sure my baby purrs for years to come!

Any Top Tier gasoline. 93 octane if you can get it, 91 minimum if you can't get 93.

I am not brand loyal on gas. I use 93 octane from any Top Tier station. If there are several Top Tier stations in the area I’ll look for the cheapest. I use the “Gas Buddy” app to find the best price.

I run Chevron Supreme in all my cars as the first choice. I will also run Costco, but there isn't one within 40 miles of me. Shell is next choice.

YMMV

I use Shell whenever available. I worked in their pipeline division and know the quality is great, at least near their pipeline. Only one I avoid is BP.

Why do you avoid BP?

several reports of fouled fuel filters and misfiring. Admittedly just after merger with Amoco.

I try to avoid Royal Dutch Shell (my 2nd choice gas because of it's high quality) and BP because I like to support domestic companies. I would buy Sunoco in a hearbeat if it were available in the west.

I've never had much of a brand preference, just always get 93. Any bad gas I've ever gotten was an individual station's issues, and not the brand.
