There is another post on this subject which the person cut out the grill insert for his C8 out of sheet of mesh and they posted measurements
of the grills and there are pictures of the templates, I’m not very mechanical and I’m paying a shop to do the install as I don’t have the tools needed
to do this. The grills are an odd shape and like I said only cost $119.00 for the 4 pieces needed so I did not want to fuss with cutting and make mistakes.

Second vette,
Me too, those that go on the outside are a lot easier to do for some one like me that has limited tools, I was afraid that they would fall off somehow
due to the 3M tape and went with the ones behind the factory grill,

Robert,
Yes, you can trace them over some sheets of paper, write some dimension and then scan the sheets and attach the file to a post.
That would be great. Only do the small inside opening as there is already another post with the sketch of the outside opening.
Thanks in advance.

The Grille screens I've seen have openings large enough to allow small pebbles and bugs to pass through. Those pebbles are still large enough to damage the condenser fins. I don't think these are going to be the end all, be all, for the fin damage dilemma. I guess a year or so will tell the tale as reports come in. I think I'll wait...

The grills I bought the hex openings are 1/4 inch, I think that this will be good enough to stop the large bugs and rocks which will cause damage, the smaller stuff will do small damage and may not be a concern

My thoughts exactly.....that’s why I glued vinyl screening on the back sides of my grills before I installed them. I had zip tied this screening on a z which I tracked wo issues. When summer comes if there are cooling issues I can remove any or all.

These fins are so soft.....I drove 800 miles wo the grills, left tons of space between the car ahead and had too much damage. Stones the size Of a nail head bending fins.

Used a dental scraper to pull out the stones and straighten the fins

It's your car, but one thing is absolute, without them the fins get smashed over. I didn't have 60 miles on mine and already had a few. I put in the Custom Car Grills in that matched the other screen work on the car perfectly, and after thousands of miles haven't noticed any more damage. I have scraped and pulled bugs out of them while washing the car. A perfectly sized and trajectory pebble could technically get through, but it's like shooting the enemy through a gun slit he's behind, pretty hard to do.

I too got them from CCG, here in South Florida the bugs are around all year since it’s mostly warm all year long, also the bent fins I’ve seen on other C8’S which do not have screens look terrible, for me it’s peace of mind.

Yep Custom Car Grills opening size is the right compromise for good airflow and protection. Compared to thicker plastic mesh they are made from thin black aluminum. They flow 77% compared to cheaper screens you can find on Amazon that have much lower % airflow for those that list.

Followed your install and removed the Center and Side Grill bar so the nylon ties did not show. This is my 9 page detailed install Pics/Cation PDF: http://netwelding.com/CF_Splitter.pdf
Note also installed a splitter at the same time, hence the PDF title.

Don't need to invest in a lift to install. Have used these Stanchions I made for my 2014 Z51 for 8 years for ~$10. Used for my Side Skirt install as well. Note, lift too high and you'll need something to prop the splitter as I did to install the new one!
