I am doing the NCM delivery. Most likely flying into Nashville and rental car-ing to some sort of Marriott hotel. any recommendations on the process?
Shane from the Museum should be sending you an email and coordinating, once your car is ready to be built (forget the code number). It all kinda happens real quick within a few weeks. Their website has it laid out pretty well: https://www.corvettemuseum.org/visit...seum-delivery/
Shane once indicated that once the car is built it could take up to 2 weeks before the vehicle is moved to the NMC. They will need time to add LPO items and do the prep PDI.
I’ll likely use Trakwrap to get my car home.I really don’t care how it looks on the road. Or I may just drive in the right lane and keep falling back as cars get in front. I’m in no hurry to get home, might even take two days to do so.

I see they require a temp tag. Who provides that, MM or will I need to obtain one from my DMV?

The Selling Dealer can provide. Be sure to ask for one as it is not necessarily automatic. In Texas, you can get a Texas temporary transfer tag but I always ask and get one from my out of state Seller.
If "MM" is MacMulkin, the answer is certainly yes as I have bought my last two NCM delivered vettes from Tommy Jr.

So, do you see a reduction is the destination freight charge if you do the NCM delivery?
No, the car is still shipped to the NCM just like any other dealer. Fixed rate regardless if going to California or to the local dealer in Bowling Green.
I keep toying with the idea of a museum delivery. I just worry about no PPF on the car and the resulting rock chips, etc...
It seems I'm in the vast minority these days, but we're doing museum delivery with no PPF, ceramic coating, or track wrap. Oh, the horror!!!
Actually I had been considering PPF but then I realized our '89 coupe has picked up plenty of rock chips over the years and that hasn't affected its "gosh, it's fun to drive a Corvette" one bit. And, it has the added benefit that I don't freak out when I do get another rock chip.
It's a car meant to be driven, not a piece of artwork that hangs in your house.

I did this when I picked up my 19GS at NCM. I also added a large soft towel in between the NoviStretch and the painter's tape. Not a single chip, scratch, or swirl after driving 800 miles. NCM will sell and install Novistretch.

Your dealer will. I had the dealer ship it direct to the museum. They actually laminated it and had it on the car when I arrived. I recommend emailing all of your required documents ahead of time, cuts down on the paperwork time.
Glad you are enjoying the experience. I'm hoping to do that with my C8. I do very much enjoy the museum.
At what hotel did you stay?
I have to say as a lifetime member of the museum, I would love to see a better hotel and several better restaurants around the museum. I'm not a Mickey D's kind of guy. Just a thought.
Stayed at The Sync. Not exactly the restaurants or hotels we had when in Louisville during the bourbon trail before, but okay. We ate at the Montana Grill.

Whew, glad to hear someone else shares my thoughts, to just let it age naturally. That’s what I love about the Corvette its designed to be a driver. Too many being manufactured to be a collectible or at least a collectible during the time I will be here.

Everything in Bowling Green is within a few minutes of the NCM.
