What a great experience with the museum pickup. Wife and I were overwhelmed today with how great they treated us, how they taught us about Corvette and about our car. We are fans for life and only drove the car .4 miles back to hotel this afternoon. 😀. Looking forward to getting to know it more tomorrow on our 492 mile drive, dont worry I will make sure to hit 500 before pulling in the driveway. Parked for the night at Hotel Sync garage.
Perfect place to stay! Enjoy your delivery...mine was fantastic. So glad I did it. Maybe get there the day before in the afternoon and hit the store and museum. Your car may be out early on the Blvd. Enjoy
I picked up my car Saturday. I stayed at the "Sync" hotel ($71.00 per night) It is clean, and has a kitchenette. (coffee, but no breakfast in lobby) Micky D's and Hardies very close. All in all, a great experience.
I have thought of going too, but my C8 HTC is supposed to be built in February and the winter drive to Toronto could be "iffy". Plus we can't cross the border going back without a 2 week quarantine, etc.
I keep toying with the idea of a museum delivery. I just worry about no PPF on the car and the resulting rock chips, etc...
You should definitely go for the NCM Delivery. You will not regret it. You can get a NoviStretch Bra for the trip home. It sells for approx $160, and is the perfect easy solution to a drive home. The NCM even sells them now, making it super easy. You could probably request the PDI guys to install it before you take delivery. I took delivery in Nov, and the NCM wasn't stocking them yet, so I ordered mine directly from NoviStretch and took it with me, and installed it in the parking lot of the hotel before leaving for home. After a 400 mile trip to Montgomery, Alabama, there was absolutely no road hazard issues. I did it mostly to protect the front AC condensers from rock damage, mission accomplished. I plan to use it again in April when I depart for the NCM and the Michelin Birthday Bash. One important point to remember, this is not a vinyl or leather bra, so it is not a fail safe system for preventing big rock chips, but light years better than driving "naked."

Reason: add another thought

Take a roll of Tracwrap with you and wrap the front end with it before you leave. That's what I did for my 1500+ mile road trip heading home. Then you can have PPF installed at a local installer. IMO, that a better option in the event that you need something re-wrapped due to something trapped underneath or other install issues. Tracwrap doesn't look pretty, but it works. You can read more about mine here: My C8 Experience - Updated with Xpel, Ceramic Coating and Tint

It also covers only a fraction of what you can protect with a roll of Tracwrap. I covered my whole front end up to the windshield (entire fascia, hood, fenders). I also covered the rockers.
Glad you are enjoying the experience. I'm hoping to do that with my C8. I do very much enjoy the museum.
At what hotel did you stay?
I have to say as a lifetime member of the museum, I would love to see a better hotel and several better restaurants around the museum. I'm not a Mickey D's kind of guy. Just a thought.

I too picked up my 19GS at the NCM and they installed a Novistretch I had brought some large microfiber towels with me in my luggage. I had lined the Novistretch net with all these towels, wedging them between the net and the car surface, which provided a lot more protection so I could get the car home without chipping the paint. The towels held up on my 780 mile drive home. No chips.
Ah damn, I didn't plan for that. Given that I have to start heading down there (from Virginia) in a couple days, I think my only option at this point is to get the front bra that they sell at the museum. It'll have to do for the ride back. But Tracwrap for VIR or Summit will be good for some HPDEs for sure!
