Everyone who i ever talked to since the july 2019 debut always has something positive to say about the car. Everyone wants one, everyone is now thinking about getting one and those who never were into corvettes, are now.
We should be considered lucky. The C8 is no longer the blue jeans shorts, new balance sneaker, baseball cap wearing car everyone associates the owner with.
The corvette is now "cool" to almost everyone now. When back then there was only a small group of car enthusiasts, non corvette owners, that appreciate the car. Now everyone thinks the car is amazing.
So expect this hype to last for the entire life of the generation. It'll be 2025-2026 with the zora about to make it's debut and people are still drooling and hoping to own a C8 of ANY variant.
If you're on the list for one, z06 or stingray, consider yourself lucky. INstead of those not on any list and just waiting for prices to come down. It won't. GM has hit the lotto with this car.
I should have gotten on the list before summer but i thought it would come easy, it wasn't. I thought i could get something else to hold me off. But i couldn't. I had to own a C8Z. So i got on the list, although a bit late but i'm hoping for a lot of drop outs so i can move into that 1st year.
Your best bet is to keep calling dealers until you find one with allocation. That is what I did. I placed a $1000 deposit mid-December of 2020, my C8 is now at 3400 status and TPW is 2/1/21. Oh, and I am paying msrp only. Can’t believe how easy it was by thinking outside of the box. I have never owned a Corvette either. Does not need to be rocket science.

I hope when your car is delivered that your dealer honors the MSRP price and doesn't insist on a markup, inflated add-ons (nitrogen in tires, Zaktek, tint, require financing at the dealer, etc.). Many reports of this crap getting sprung on buyers at the last minute.
