How well does it it sync up in the 2021 C8? I like to use the WAZE app on the highways. Can you have it up on the screen and also search your radio presets without taking waze off the screen?

“Search” your radio presets? You can scroll through them with the “FAV” button on the bottom left side of the steering wheel, but to actually “search” or see a list to select from I think it would require navigating off the CarPlay (Waze) screen.

Biggest disadvantage to using Apple Car play is there is no way to see the outside temp display when in Car play mode. You have to exit the car play screen to go back to the GM info screen. Unfortunately its not one of the options to show outside temp on the dash screen (IMO, an overlook by GM)

I run the Sirus XM app to get radio while using Car play. You can also stream your own music or use Pandora or other apps. There's a free app you can download that lets you get every radio station in any market.

I have found apple car play to be a bit buggy but maybe I'm not 100% used to it.. But waze works fine.

I guess GM realized that they overlooked that, for 2021 there is a time & temperature tile that can put on the instrument display. I run that and tire temperature/pressure as my display for Tour and My modes.

What app is that?

same issue with android auto.

Android auto differently in each mfr vehicle.

In every one I've tested Ram VW and Gm they have temps displayed. Ram actually shows it it twice on the screen.

These new digital setups (cluster) they show things 2 3 4 times. Hysterical. Wife's new XT6 shows digital speed in 3 places plus the analog.

They either give you way too much or nothing.

My post was specific to the C8. 2021 model since I was running wireless, if that makes any difference.

For time/temperature info tiles, from page 82 of the 2021 owner’s manual:

Preset info tiles shown on each layout:
Sport : G-Force, Oil Temperature
Track : Oil Pressure, Transmissions Fluid Temperature, Tire Pressure & Tire Temperature, Oil Temperature
Tour : Time & Outside Air Temperature, Oil Pressure
Weather : Time & Outside Air Temperature, Tire Status
Z-Mode : Oil Temperature, G-Force
My Mode : Economy Trend, Oil Pressure

So if you have a 2021, and you haven’t already changed the default info tiles, you should be able to see the time/outside temperature tile in Tour and Weather modes. You can always adjust which info tiles are displayed in the various modes.
