Looking for a close up picture of red interior stitching. I'm thinking about dying my stitching and I want to get as close to the factory color stitching as I can. Thanks for any help.
My biggest concern is a dye that does not fade resulting in you having to re-apply it every couple of years. That would get old real fast. Hope you find something that lasts.

Is factory red stitching on black interior a 2lt or 3lt option? Can't find it on the build site.

I may be wrong but I thought red stitching on just black interior is only available on a 3LT. If you do get the two tone red and black interior on a 2LT then you get the red stitching. Someone will let me know if I am wrong.
I did the white stitching in my Rav 4 today with a red permanent marker. I used the red Artist's Loft fine point marker. I am so impressed with how it looks. I have a C8 3lt red stitching on order. It will have to look really good to beat the look from the marker. If you go to an artist supply store you can sample the different brands.

I wish there was a way of knowing how long the stitching will stay red before/if it fades. I would do it if it lasts. I saw a C8 that had the stitching died orange that looked awesome.

Just be sure to use fabric dye pens, like the Marvy Uchida Fabric Marker Fine Point 522 series.
You all are brave taking sharpies craft markers etc to a C8. I do all kinds of things but I just don't know. I am so particular I would wonder if under different lighting etc you could see discoloration of the dash etc under and around the stitching. I get it but it could be a costly mistake off not satisfied with the results.
I did it and it really looks so much better than the stock stitching. Its been a year and 16,000 miles and it still looks great.
@gwalsh88 Looks great! can you please tell me exactly which marker you used to get that yellow? Any I tried so far do not work well with the grayish white thread. Bought various ones from Michaels, and all bombed badly.
The thread has a grayish tone, which made the marked thread appear greenish instead of yellow. Yours looks proper yellow. How did you achieve that?
And is the yellow on the steering wheel a 3M or Avery vinyl strip? If so, is it satin or gloss? Color name?
Thanks for any info. Would like to do the same. Your car looks awesome!

However My C7 was yellow and I used the ZIG Fabricolor Twin, and found that it matches Velocity Yellow the best. There are other colors, of course. You can view them here: http://www.markersupply.com/zigtema1.html#.VW0zLkb5GXo

Yes, deviated stitching is a 3LT only option, otherwise you have to select the same color seats on 1LT and 2LT.
I will say that 1LT Red Seats with the Red stitch is amazing and just right - reminds me of the 40th Anniversary 370Z's interior (mostly black, red stitching, red leather and alcantera seats, red alcantera door panel inserts)
I want to do the same, so I bought some red fabric dye pens. This is what I bought.
But the color looks more orange than red when applied to the stitching. No I did not test it on my C8. I actually tested it on a steering wheel cover from Walmart, maybe spent $20 on the cover. If any one has a recommendation on a good red fabric pen let me know.
