Well yesterday I picked up my new white C8 and I must say that combo with the carbon black accents is even more stunning in person than in pictures. I love it.
But my big disappointment was when I was deciding how to order, I saw pix of the yellow calipers I wanted. The color of that yellow appeared like highlighter yellow, which is to say yellow with a lot of green tinge. That yellow conflicted with my bright yellow seatbelts and stitching over black. I opted not to take a chance with an off color and just stay with the stock black calipers.
So having left MacMulkin and picking up my car, and seeing the yellow on a couple of cars on display there, I was horrified by what I saw. The color was not as bad as I had thought. It was MUCH MUCH WORSE!. Although in the many different photos I saw it seemed just a greenish yellow, in person it appeared to me to be an awful puke color tending towards the brownish spectrum, and very difficult for me to even look at. I would say hideous.
So you know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and all this is just my opinion, but at the least I would caution my Corvette friends to try to see this color in real for yourself and not rely on the pictures you may have seen. I hesitate to say anything derogatory about things Corvette for fear of offending someone, which is likely and I am sorry for that, but I am really just trying to put out an APB here.

You certainly succeeded in offending other members, including me. You could have been much more diplomatic in your approach.
I personally love the yellow calipers on my Elkhart Lake Blue C8 with the Spectra Gray Trident wheels:
I have the yellow calipers. They were a bolder choice than red because of the greenish tint. Reaction from friends and strangers is that most people like them, but not all do. I don't like them with my silver wheels, but they look fine with the CF or black wheels (I have red mist). I'll switch to darker wheels if I don't sell my car when the Z06 goes into production.

While I totally disagree with you, I think you made the right choice to not get yellow calipers on a white C8.

Glad you dodged the bullet and for letting us know. If you're looking for a break-in trip recommendation I'd suggest an eye doctor in your area. Congrats on the car.

Why not say how you really feel? Just kidding! But seriously tysts way too much artsy smartsy for many of us. I admit a that I am not a yellow brake guy but I took a look at a lot of pictures with very expensive sport cars and many were sporting yellow brakes. I’d also say that if someone is looking that closely than they are too close to your car. I was fortunately able to purchase a Rapid Blue car with yellow brakes (not my choice) and did some research. Hope I’m correct. Enjoy your ride!!!
No offense to anyone who has and likes the edge yellow calipers as we all have different likes (carbon flash vs carbon fiber, coupe vs HTC, etc.)
But for people clicking on the subject of this thread, I'll offer another perspective as I was searching for the same info a while ago.
My interior is black with yellow stitching. The first time I saw edge yellow calipers in person, I convinced myself they were a close enough match.
The day I finalized my configuration, they had a rapid blue in the showroom with the yellow calipers. At that moment I still ordered them.
A few days later I decided I knew I wouldn't be happy with the greenish tint and matte finish, so I changed to standard black.
I'm having mine powder coated gloss yellow in a shade that matches better. Maybe I'm being picky but to each his own. I'll probably change to carbotech pads at the same time to reduce the dust, and have my aftermarket wheels and powder coated calipers ceramic coated.

It gets nothing but compliments.
I love the yellow but hate the Elk Blue!! Hahaha just joking your car looks great and I see why you get compliments. BTW someone in the GM paint dept feels it’s great. Yellow is on many high price exotics as well. Tough criticism of other’s choices but to each his own.

This is so subjective, similar to like or dislike a car's body color, so why is such a big deal to be horrified - we never hear others saying "I am horrified by the color of your car".
Like John (Zymurgy), I like the yellow calipers on my car, remind me of the yellow calipers on some silver 911s, not brash, and very classy and elegant!
