Does anyone know if there is a TSB or recall on the front trunk not opening?
Neither key fob works, the button under the drivers headlight doesn't work, the button on the door doesn't work
and the only way to open the frunk is to get on the ground reach under the dash and pull the manual release? Pain in the ***!
Dealer said I would need to leave it with them for them to figure it out and order parts ...... that doesn't sit too well since I drive it
almost everyday. Don't want a loaner I just want my front trunk to open! I have read that a solinoid can go bad?
No TSB, but a warranty replacement. My dealer wouldn't take my word for the fix, took a half day to analyze it and reload software, second half day to order the actuator overnight, and morning of second day to install. Car was back to me by noon the second day.
I believe I am having the same problem. About half the times that I try to open the frunk with the key fob or frunk button on the door, the frunk will not open. The lights flash and I hear a clicking noise but the frunk will not open. Occasionally, I will just keep pressing the button for a minute (on fob or door) and it will eventually open. Sometimes it will not open. I have tried cranking the car up and then clicking the frunk button on the door. Cranking the car up first appears to work most of the time. Although, even cranking the car up does not always work. I inquired at my dealer if they were familiar with issue last time I was in for an oil change but they did not know. I didn't want to leave it at the dealer during that visit. I will let them know about the hood latch actuator and see if that fixes it for me.

How do you expect them to fix it if you won't leave the car with them? Harry Potter isn't around to wave a magic wand.
Sheesh, you'd think people never owned a car before this one.
I think what OP is getting at is he doesn't want the service shop spending a whole bunch of time troubleshooting vs if there is a TSB it would provide them with exact instructions and he would potentially be able to get in and out as they'd know on advance of having his car what needs to be done, what parts to order, etc.
See if your dealer's parts dept. will order the actuator before you come in for service. That would save you a day. My experience was GM tells them to reload software, then when that doesn't work, they say to replace the actuator, and that solves it. Mine was done mid April.
