After 1100 miles on the car and a 2 day Corvette Owners session at Spring Mountain this week, I just want to say how impressed I am with this car. After 20+ years of 911 ownership, I didn't quite know what to expect but whatever expectations I had have been blown away. Great car - that is all. Oh, and no issues whatsoever in the first 35 days of ownership.
Thanks for sharing. Before pulling the trigger on a C8, I cross-shopped the 911. During my research, I came across a summary from a reputable automotive journalist. His summary about the 992 was...
In a 992, you feel like you are part of the supercar.
In a C8, you feel like you are in a supercar.
I am curious to know your unbiased assessment. Is above summation accurate, or in a C8 the engagement is also that you feel like you are part of a supercar vs. just in it?
Count me as another 911 convert as well. Had my SC for 20+ years but just couldn't pass on the C8. Looking forward to adding it to the garage in the next couple of months (just got my allocation in April).
Glad to hear you've had no issues and are enjoying the car!
I would also agree that this car is one fantastic ride....finest car I've ever owned from performance to ride. It feels like the car was built around me. I'm at 989 miles each one has been truly fantastic. This car is such an awesome touring vehicle as well as sport oriented. It's like "how did they get that much delicious over 4 wheels"!
I haven't found anything annoying or problematic. I've been getting between 21 and 22 miles around town with outside temps between 35 and 50 degrees.
We are for sure driving Americas 1st super car IMO....and WOW.
To those of you waiting .....IT'S FREAKN' WORTH THE WAIT!!!

I'm not sure I would agree with that assessment. I really feel a closer connection to the road in the C8 than in the 911. The 911 feels like I am driving a car, the C8 makes me feel like I'm an extension of the car. Especially on the track - I liked the C8 much more, more connected, better feedback. And, I don't consider the styling of the 911 to be a supercar. Just my 2 cents.
And to think that we were told no one cross shops 911s and Corvettes. I knew that was BS.
Another 911 cross shopper here. Dont get me wrong, 911 are iconic and all, but start adding up the options and a targa 911 gets pricey real quick. I've driven a targa 4s from 2008 and it was exhilarating. I think it obviously stands the test of time.
This C8 is a dream.
Both cars are wonderful and if you're lucky enough to own either, consider yourself blessed.
Gorgeous color Skywaterbanjo! You built a beauty. We had our cars built fairly close TPW wise. Mine is VIN .......6291. Best Corvette i've ever owned, hands down.

great shot. that profile shot of a non-z51 looks fantastic. Without the rear wing it has a sleek, very aerodynamic shape. I don't know why more folks don't get the body color accents. i know I am. I have had more than a few people say they like the black boomerang because it "breaks up the lines"....like that's a good thing. :-). who wants to break up the lines of that body style?
