That appears to be bright red. Edge has a more metallic look. I went edge as the metallic look goes well with the HSG. Just my preference but both work

Ever since I saw HGM in combination with Carbon Flash, with a touch of red (calipers) and silver (wheels), I've known it was going to be my order. Couldn't quite pinpoint why, though. Today on a chairlift I looked down at my favorite skis and figured it out.

I love the two tone interior of sky gray and black. I just wish you could have the center console all black.

Oh snap! It is possible? What options do you need to pick to make that happen? I went with all black interior. Darn….

I guess I should have reached out to either MM or the forum. Not a huge deal, but it definitely would have made the interior pop and gave the speaker grills a complementary color.

The first Hypersonic Gray Metallic I saw in person was my own when it was delivered a couple of weeks ago.

For those of you considering this choice but haven't had a chance to see it up close, here are my impressions (keeping in mind that there's a certain amount of subjectivity when it comes to perceiving color): the gray is darker than I anticipated from photos and videos posted; it shows off the car's lines amazingly well; there's green in there, but it's very subtle and I also see about two bits of blue for every five of green; there is a lot going on with shadows and the nuances of the metallic. Overall, I'm surprised by how thrilled I am with HGM.

Emotional engagement with a color is entirely personal. With the various shades of gray created by all the shadows, it conveys an ominous cumulonimbus to me. My car looks like a cloud! and the exhaust notes sound like thunder.

Having fourteen months between the time I placed my deposit until I had to submit the final specs resulted in about 1,400 internal debates about which exterior/interior color combination to select. I had it more or less narrowed down to Accelerate Yellow Metallic and Rapid Blue. Showing my wife, she said, 'it's your car and you should get whatever color will make you happy, but just know that the C8 itself makes quite a statement,' Words of wisdom; and with that, I totally changed my thinking.

I ultimately went for a classic look that HGM provides with a bit of a WOW factor. The carbon flash/edge red stinger stripe moves the eye from the badge up to the two-tone interior. Edge red calipers and spectra gray wheels complement the stripe and the body color. The red rear Corvette script and the red taillights finish the effect.

I'm very pleased with my choices. I stare at this thing in my garage and get overwhelmed. Thanks to all who posted photos of their HGM C8s. I would never have selected this color without your input.

Congrats on finally getting your car.
I agree with you 100% that this color shows off the lines of the car better than any other color I've seen. There is a c8r around the corner from me and I didn't see any hint of green at all. (If anyone is interested they are asking 50k adm... absolutely insane)

First, congratulations! Second, thank you for posting, especially these two pics. Each affirms choices I made on my HGM build, currently scheduled as 1/24 TPW. My wife’s words were nearly identical to yours - the car already makes a statement so the color doesn’t have to (like you, I listened to wisdom).

I appreciate two of your photos in particular. I had a sense that adding to the rear the optional red CORVETTE lettering would look great on HGM and yours proves it does. The Edge Red calipers add just the right amount of red without overdoing it, which is helped by leaving the roof/nacelles body color.

Actually I opted for even less red than did you - no hood stripe. I am considering adding a variation of the Jake C8R hood stripe which has a tiny amount of red in the call-out. And if I get motivated I may swap out the black seat belts for red as they are not expensive and are easily bolted in.

And I appreciate your choice of no spoiler as well…
In short the overall “look and feel” of your C8 is very much what I am seeking with my build and I thank you again for posting pix of it!

I have been to Ciocca atleast 4 times looking at colors. I went with the HGM and I am waiting on delivery. To me, its a timeless color, I plan on keeping the car forever, so while the blue is awesome and the orange is eye catching etc etc. the hypersonic wont diminish over time...its classic. Do I really want to be 70 climbing out of a bright yellow car...that's just not me( and i fully appreciate those that it does suit to do that). It's all personal preference of course, but HGM will stand up to the test of time. Just my thoughts.

Well, I am 70 and I also don't want feel out of place in a car with a color that is too dramatic. However, I'm on the fence about HSG. I haven't had the opportunity to see it in person but from photos I can't quite get over how similar it looks to my wife's silver Toyota minivan and there are so many grey cars out there. My first choice was long beach red, followed by shadow grey, which of course are no longer available. Considering red mist but it's a bit bright for my taste.First world problem, I know...

Red Mist is a very muted color as compared to Torch Red. Still happy with my HSG choice.
