Has anyone ordered the front splitter from GM on their new C8 Vette? When I go to build your Vette on the Chevrolet website and look at the picture under “accessories “ it appears to be three pieces. I have gone to the American Hydrocarbon and other distributors and it is one solid piece. I am in the process of getting my built soon (I’m #3. on dealership list). I would like to hear your input and see any pictures if you have them.
I purchased my 3 piece C8 splitter from Extreme On Line. Ordered mine un-painted (Carbon Flash).
I can't tell you about fit and finsh yet as my C8 is sitting in the factory unfinished..
The GM one IS in three pieces. I ordered a non-Z51 Vette and ordered the splitter and the rocker covers (both come in a Ground Effects package--https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/oem-parts/gm-exterior-trim-ground-effects-kit-84254456). I had the dealer install both during PDI. They charged me $130 to install both. With installation, cost of ground effects package was just a little more than ordering only the rocker covers with the car
I considered ordereing the GM aero kit but decided against it for several reasons, the mosr important of which was to not order any option that might become a constraint issue and ultimately went with an after market one piece carbon flash and got it on ebay after an epic failure from a forum sponsor selling the two piece splitter. The one on ebay is an orange car with the splitter highlighted and the orange as a partial fade out. It was $779 free shipping and the quality was nothing short of spectactular. It was a 5vm style which looks aweome in arctic white. I think they also sell the 1vm in a one-piece as well. The splitter I ordered came in fast, was flawless and fit perfectly using existing screws, no drilling or tape needed.
I purchased the GM front splitter (3 Pieces) from GM Parts Direct for my non Z51 car as shown below. I installed it using the holes that are already there and used the existing hardware for a perfect fit. It took about 45 min because I didn't want to take the time to jack the car up and was crouched under the front and had to use hand tools. Highly recommended. Looks the same as factory Z51 front splitter Part Number 84718127

Is this the part number you ordered 84718127? My car is getting built 8/23 and would like to add this?
I have the American Hydrocarbon one piece carbon fiber appearance with the "Stingray R" and 1/4 inch red pinstripe painted under the clear coat. I also installed it in less than an hour, lying on the garage floor, using hand tools. NO JACKS and NO LIFT. Piece of cake, and I am 75 years old.
Yes that the part number from GM Part Direct. You can order from their website. If you order it from the GM Parts Counter at your dealership you'll probably be about $100 higher.
Looks awesome. I was going to order the one piece just like yours through American Hydrocarbon BUT I did not know the 1/4 inch pin stripe could be matched to your car color. I am ordering a Misty Red C8. do you know if they can match the pin stripe to your body color?
