Default DCT Filter Question

Does Chevrolet cover the cost to replace the C8 DCT filter prior to 7500 miles or not? If they do, where is the documentation that states such. Some dealers say not and that first replacement is a maintenance item to be charged to the owner. Anyone in our forum have an answer ?

Thanks,
Ed

My dealership supplied oil filter, oil and transmission filter and fluid for first service at no charge to me. Labor for those services was also covered by GM.

I had to pay for engine air filter and cabin air filter and labor as they are not part of that initial service.

The first DCT filter change is covered by GM if performed along with the first engine/filter change at the first service within the first year of ownership. The Oil Life Monitor will indicate the first service needs to be done within the first year if it hasn't been reset. Some supporting documents:

They should also hook up a scan tool and perform a transmission hydraulic system flush/cleaning procedure (does not include fluid replacement) prior to DCT filter removal if they follow the procedure in the service manual:

Yes, but it's "within the first year," not within 7500 miles. If you don't hit 7500 until 18 months, and go in to get your filter change, it's going to be on your dime.

The documentation has been published on the forum repeatedly. Here are a couple of docs. (Attached)
