To each his own, but the DCT will beat tlheir stick shift (with equal drivers) around a track every day of the week. I hated giving up my manual (first car I ever bought for myself without one), but on the track there is simply no question a DCT is far superior. No matter how good they are, they can't shift in 100 ms with the power on.
I’ve never heard any of the say it’s because they can shift faster than a modern DCT. That being said, the performance benefit they would get from the DCT doesn't outweigh the loss of enjoyment they get from a DCT and that’s totally valid to me even if not applicable to me.
Some people can't handle change. The world moves on. They're both great cars, but the C8 is so much better in so many ways.
Was the car "no longer a Corvette" when they put a V8 in it? Put a hardtop roof on it? Got rid of round taillights and hidden headlights?
I wouldn’t consider a C7, but I will admit that the design when viewed from the back or rear 1/4 angle looks better than the C8. The C8 from those angles is pretty bad IMO. Almost looks like someone walking around with a load in their pants.
I just thought it was cool I got to drive one, I like both cars my buddy with the C8 does too. The forum has more loud mouths than Corvettes though so the thread turns into pure nonsense.

C7 AT stingray vs C8 DCT stingray, its a no brainer really. The C8 is lightyears ahead in every aspect
C7 Z06 MT vs C8 DCT, now that's a tougher one. The supercharged MT drama is definitely missed but the DCT and the refinement on the C8 combined with the driving dynamics does not make me miss my Z06.
In the looks department though, the C7 Z06 proportions and wide *** made it the best looking corvette in my books, could stare at it all day
Honestly it is not the difference in generations this time . It is now a Corvette by name only. It has always been a Front Engine Sports Car/ Muscle car but with the C8 GM went European and made it a Mid Engine Exotic/Supercar.. If you like Supercars than you will Love the C8 but if you do not like Exotic Supercars like myself than it is a big disappointment to a lot of us that can not get used to its looks. Good Luck and enjoy your C8 hopefully as much as I am enjoying my C7.
Yeah but the C8 is a brilliant move by GM. The Camaro is now it’s American Muscle car. And with the top Camaros creeping into Corvette territory in price and performance GM needed to differentiate the Corvette to give it a premium feel.
Even a $70k Camaro is still a Camaro and the C8 is perfect from a brand architecture POV.
I've ;pved every Vette I've owned (7) and the C-8 is by far the best one yet. People that won't buy a C-8 because it doesn't have a 'manual' transmission are simply ignorant about how much fun a paddle shift car can be. Moat likely still have flip phones too.
If I am able to get another Corvette after my C7, it won't be the transmission that holds me back from a C8. A battery pack maybe, but not the tranny.
Hey, y'all do realize we don't all like the same things, right?
So pick the one you like and fun with her:
Said I was not going to respond to this thread anymore but could not resist choosing from one of these 3 lovely women!!!! First on the right 100% all day long and I am only 5' 8" so I will feel like a taller man then I really am!
To each his own. Not everyone wants or likes a Corvette of any generation. I love the C8 and let go my then all time favorite C6 427 Vert to get it. I am very happy with mine, even with the PDR issues I am having.
Yep to each his own.And I am glad you are so happy with your C8 even with a few issues.

Ok one more post to this interesting thread. If a 2013 C6 427 Vert like the pictures below was available with a A6 Transmission I would have never purchased a C7 or Let alone a C8 and kept the C6 427 Vert till they took my license to drive away.THIS CAR IS THE REAL DEAL! I was so excited about this C6 when the rumors started basically a C6 Z06 Vert but my dreams were crushed with only the manual transmission offered because GM said the automatic would not handle the Power of the C6 427 VERT BEAST! That is how I ended up with a A8 C7 Z06 Vert. Any pictures of your 2013 C6 427 Vert would like to see it!!!

Not the same, not even in the same league. How could anyone compare a really manual to paddle shifters. IMHO
I know they may be fun, to me it just gets boring
