I have a 1999 Hugger Orange Camaro SS that had a small production run. It's a 30th Anniversary color from 1969. Hugger Orange has a bit of red in it as opposed to AO. I would say AO is an orange that looks closer to Pontiac's 1970 Orbit Orange. It's a truer orange color.
Thanks, that's good to know. I had a 1969 Z28 Camaro in Hugger Orange with white stripes. Always loved that color, that's why I was interested in what AO was like compared to HO. Really appreciate the information!
Gotta say, seeing the, side by side here I wish that Chevy had kept Sebring over Amplify or at least offer both. One looks very washed out compared to the other.
Wow, huge difference between SO and AO! Didn't realize AO looks that washed out compared to SO. Or is that just from the lighting and angles?
I'm still trying to find a pictures that realistically depicts AO. I'm really torn between getting AO vs AYM. Based on the pictures in this thread not sure if AO would be a good choice. Wish I could see it in person so I could make a good decision on it.

That thought and that picture had me trying to make a custom license plate around that concept work. CRMC8LE is about the closest I could come up with. Had to go in another direction if I end up getting a custom plate, as I was not to enthused about it.

I think it's just the lighting. The only one that looks washed out to me is the last picture because of the shadows, but if you look at the SO next to it there is also a dullness to its color as well.
AO doesn't look washed out to me in pictures, it looks orange. Sebring has a lot of red in it to me, and looks red in more pictures than it looks orange. Amplify in some pictures looks very slightly red, more often a deep orange to a light orange depending on lighting.
Can't wait to see it in person, hopefully in the next few weeks.

Unedited pics of my AO next to my buddy’s AY On an overcast day. I have been very happy with AO and I’ve found that it never looks “washed out” in person, just in some pics.
Ok this might be a long shot, but I thought I'd ask here first. Does anyone know of a gloss vinyl wrap material that is very close in color to Amplify Orange? I have an idea for a project.

Drove from Louisiana to Texas yesterday and saw 5 C8s on the road. 4 were torch red, one was Rapid Blue. I'm very glad I ordered a color that isn't so common.

I am going to guess that you saw very few if any C7's even though they made 4 times as many than C8's?

When are you supposed to get yours? Yeah, TR is very popular but there's something to be said about getting a color that's less common and more distinctive. You have to be pretty excited knowing you'll be getting yours soon!

Mine is currently sitting at the courtesy delivery dealership undergoing PDI. Just need to finish up my paperwork with MM and get PDI done so I can pick it up. Hopefully this week as I just added it to my insurance.

Congrats!!! I'm sure you're really pumped about getting it. Any pics you can share of it yet?
My car at a show yesterday. AO is BY FAR the best color overall, and pictures mess with it's in person beauty. It's exotic looking and very eye catching.
