Default Smart Driver

Just realized that I was being monitored by I think Onstar. Smart Driver is keeping track of my driving habits and even has a map of where I went. Is there a way to disable it? For those that have not seen it, go to your Chevrolet app and press more. Then press smart driver. You might be surprised. So where can I disable it?

Just read another post about this. Did not see a way to disable it.

After 3 months I got an auto-generated speeding ticket and a court summons based on my OnStar driving history. I was shocked that it took them three months to process all my hard acceleration events and that they let me rack up so many before letting me know my drivers license was going to be suspended!

NOT REALLY, but it isn't a far stretch that if you were negligent and involved in a bad accident that the other party may subpoena the data related to your car from OnStar, PDR recording, etc and use that in court to prove your driving was wreckless, etc.. Does the 5th amendment apply in this case? You personally aren't testifying against yourself, but your datalogger certainly is!

I’ve been meaning to cancel that as well:

1. My.Chevrolet.com
2. Owner Center
3. Vehicle Health tab at top of page, Smart Driver from the drop down menu
4. Find your “Driver Score” (you might have to hit the “continue” button)
5. Towards the bottom of the page is a box labeled “Smart Driver” with a “Deactivate” button at the bottom of the box
6. Deactivate and confirm when they tell you all your Smart Driver data will be lost

I wrote the instructions while deactivating my GMC Sierra, but I think it was exactly the same for the Corvette.

I am guessing this only happens when you waste your money on Onstar.

I'm still waiting for my C8 to be built, but I used your instructions to deactivate "Smart Driver" from my wife's Equinox (not that she ever exceeds 30mph anyway).....

I'll keep this on during break-in and then disable it before any spirited driving... OnStar will definitely think I'm a "Smart" Driver!

Just disabled mine. My score was 36. I dont remember any time in the past month I have exceeded 4000 rpm or any hard braking. But it had me for 2 of each. Done. Dont see any positive value unless your insurance gives you a discount which mine does not.

I believe big brother wants to see your driving can find out from the car computer. Understand that it has been used in courts because of accidents.
So you can do what you want but the computer will always be there

Don't you have to ACTIVATE before you can DEACTIVATE?

I can't find the deactivate button then. I checked some dates and it had no info for last week which was a 2 day trip. Is the higher score good or bad I drive with the traffic which on 40 is 75-85 my score was 89

I just went to whole run around with OnStar. You have to ACTIVATE before you DEACTIVATE Smart Driver why some of you are saying it's automatic I don't know some of the stuff they get is but not SMART DRIVER somehow it was activated whether they knew it or not

Wonder what score that guy got who left his car in D and stepped on the accelerator as he was leaving the car and then wrecked it onto the sidewalk.

With or without OnStar, your car has a datalogger, and the police, or in a lawsuit the other party, can and will subpoena it in the event of a serious accident.
