If you are at ~2200's at Ciocca and they are getting ~1000 allocations a year (optimistic) It will be late 2023 before you get a C8 from them.

Maybe late fall from MM if you are lucky

many are on a few lists. Many change their minds. Will not be a 24+ month wait

Kerbeck (Ciocca) doesn't update their numbers after each order cycle. Your number never changes. So, you have to know what numbers got into their latest allocations in order to know where you stand.

Around 1000 allocations at Ciocca is a very low estimate. If Ciocca only gets 1000, then MM would only be getting around 800 and everyone is screwed except the people early on both lists. Obviously, nobody knows what the future will bring, but IF the factory can produce everything they are capable of...The number should be closer to 2000+ for Ciocca and 1600+ for MM.

God I hope so, I'm praying for this to be even just an optimistic estimate, really wanting to get a '22

Op dropping from the list could potentially make the difference between my order hitting or getting bumped over to the next model year. While thats unlikely for me, it'll for sure happen to somebody. Somebody on either list will not make the cut because op wanted to churn a few grand whilst not producing any true value. Nobody in the market of buying them aftermarket is a "sucker" as someone put it, we're all victims of this plague. Had it not been for that, I question if there would have even been wait lists at all.

Wrong . #2200 is an ongoing count these deposits were placed 1st quarter of 2021. I’m in that batch for the next allocation.First deposit 3/5/2021 #22__

I put down a deposit for a C8Z at MM 3 months ago. As of now I do wish I had placed a deposit on a C8 Stingray so at some point in the nearest future I would be driving a C8. I held off on the C8 Stingray as I would be modifying the car and The Z would have gave a better starting point for mods

I would lean towards Ciocca because I was assured I’d get in the second consensus. I have similar dilemma . My local dealer only received 1 corvette from the first allocation I’m #4 because there were 3 orders for a 2021 that were not built due to the June cut off. As long as they receive 3 on the next consensus I’ll order locally if not wait till September. The question still is what to do with Ciocca car ?

Consensus answer remains unchanged and unsurprising given your audience here, meaning people eager/desperate for their chance to build just one. If you are unselfish and understanding, walk away from it. If you are a me-first person looking to leverage Ciocca's commitment to sell at MSRP into personal profit, then buy both and be sure to come back here and tell everyone else still waiting in line how much money you pocketed.

Hard choice, not sure what I'd do.

If there was a way I’d transfer or give it away the spot and leave it up to the individual to compensate or not . I would.

There isn't. The slot belongs to the dealer, not you. You have no rights to convert it to cash.

Really, this isn't complicated. Are you willing to unselfishly walk away and let all those below you move up a spot? Or, are you profit-minded first, understanding that your profit is possible because the dealers you're dealing with are honoring MSRP?

If you go the latter, don't expect universal accolades about your business acumen here. Right or wrong, some here consider that choice craven.

I can say with confidence that when my order goes in from the first dealer who provides it, I intend to let the conga line behind me move up a slot - without seeking compensation for it. YMMV

I think you are sniffing. You are playing with buying and selling for profit.
This thread is for you to see who is willing to buy one of your orders when they come in.
Enjoy the chase. Good luck.

I'm in a similar spot. I placed deposits at Ciocca and MM in late May. I went to Rick Hendrick Duluth in early April, placed a deposit, got a May allocation, and have a TPW of 8/30 for a 2021.

I'm about 200 out on Ciocca's list and I haven't checked MM lately. BUT.......I use eBay Motors to sell cars for a variety of reasons - control of who bids and contacts me being a priority. I've sold two cars on there in the last 18 months and both sold in less than two weeks to out of state buyers. I took a look at C8s on that site and saw that many of the 60+ C8s on there aren't getting bids and those that are getting bids aren't very close to what had to be MSRP. For that reason I'm going to hang onto my two places in line until I take delivery and then get my deposits back from Ciocca and MM.

Since it is no secret that I do not care what 50% of people have to think in here, I hope you can enjoy this comment OP. Oddly enough I get a decent amount of support because I cut against the grain.

When I see opinions, of "Hey OP, yeah you have two positions in line, and who cares how long you waited...you should completely forego that profit you would make from the second car. You know why you should do it? Because man, there is someone out there with a lonely garage and no C8. That should make you feel pretty terrible man. You know, it is kind of un-American that you have a sweet c8 and sold another for a profit man", I am forced to laugh.

I have waited now 8 months with a small dealer and close to three months with one of the big guys. So if I choose to stay in this game( because with all the shut downs and part shortages it is a game) and I have the opportunity to make 5 or 6k after waiting a year for GM to supply me with a car so that I can give them 70k, you better believe I will do it.

You know why? Because when all is said and done I will have waited a year for one car and probably 18 months for another. I have seen members in here get the car in 6 months and others wait 20 months (God bless them). The waits varied for all sorts of reasons and NONE OF THEM had anything to do with me.

So when I have to basically pray to get my damn cars, fork over 140k+, wait a total of 18 months for both cars, trust me when I say I could care less what idyllic argument someone on here makes.

Do what is best for you. I say look to do a private sale.

Ciocca's list is different, its a cumulative list. If he's 2200 it could possibly be late fall early Winter. They just put in orders in the 1900s two weeks ago

By that same token I hope that anyone of such opinions gets their "sale at MSRP" yoinked by their dealer at the last second. Two can play of the game of screwing over others for no good reason. I don't think the majority opinion on these forums is in support of churning cars given the situation we're all faced with by the plague. I hope that discontent for churning cars remains the majority opinion for a long while and that theres plenty of people ending up holding car bags because they tried to time the market without creating value.

Theres no reason for any of us to be shitty to one another and I hate the fact that sort of mindset is so prevalent here. How did the middle class mans sports car earn such a pretentious sort of following?

You think an individual selling a car is churning?

A car.

One car...AFTER A YEAR AND A HALF.

Lolol yeah. That was great. Thumbs up man for the laugh.
