That's what I'm worried about, that this guy is getting the order the dealer spec'd when submitted ~2 weeks ago, not his own.

That's weird. I've heard of dealers putting in generic builds by the first deadline, but thought they had to be changed by the 2nd deadline (3 days later). Maybe they're assuming you can still change to your desired specs. Keep us updated!
When I went on the waiting list I submitted my order initially and was at 1100 status.... but then I changed it.... last night when they told me there was an allocation they had me finalize everything. I removed the high-wing spoiler as a last minute change, but other than that, it's a 2lt coupe in torch red with z51, front lift, mag ride, and a few other goodies I couldn't live without. Dropped off the deposit today and got the signed paperwork they're selling so me at MSRP. Still went much faster than I thought... I'm glad though, I change my mind quick unless I'm locked in. I was planning on going to check out a Model S Plaid this weekend too.... Might wait a bit longer on that one though....
It's not a generic order though... the workbench printout they gave me has my order number and every option I spec'd.

Awesome. Based on other info, seems to be an outlier that a dealer could submit a build this late in the month, but great news for you!

I have located your order (ZZPBQS) and can see that your vehicle is at the Event Description 2000 - Accepted by GM. This status means that your order has been paired with allocation by your dealer and the factory is in the process of ensuring it is a buildable order. Once approved, it will progress to the 3000 status - Accepted by Production Control by the end of the week and will remain at that status until production approaches on your vehicle. We recommend reaching out every 2-3 weeks for updates once your order progresses to the 3000 status - Accepted by Production Control.
So this means I have an allocation?
Yes, the dealers allocation was attached to you order.
Are you aware of the one shift operation at BGA? Currently, production have been cut to 1 shift operation this week, which cut the production of 180 a day to 90 car a day! Production planning is scrambling to avoid going into next week on a one shift operation.
I’ve been at 3300 for 3 weeks without moving to 3400 even thou I been told my TPW is 11/1! That can’t possibly happen without production control moving my order to 3400… So I believe you’re being too optimistic in believing that you going to get your car before Christmas, especially when BGA last production day in 2021 is Friday 12/18/21 before the annual Christmas break.
John58, I've a number of Johns' on my spread sheet but I don't we you. I wan't aware of BGA going to one shift till you said something.
After some deep thoughts over night, but still " Male Answer Syndrome".
First GM & BGA has lass leaks the the CIA, so chances of us really knowing why are slim to not.. Since the time from 3000 to TPW averages 30 days with some going to 55 days GM must have some lead times on the supply chain issues, So they are never blinded sided, they know what's up 30 to 90 days in advance. I'll bet Oct smaller then expected allocations had the "Issue" factored in. Ciocca's Sept orders seem to be working through. We will see on their next report. Here is their 10/18 and 10/25 with a Date Ordered column, something they don't add
[QUOTE=cecilt;1604228939]Your timeline. Allocations were provided on 10/14 and orders had to be in by 10/16 and changes made by 10/19. If the order was not placed in this timeframe the allocation a dealer may have had is lost. The next consensus for allocations be given to dealers is 11/4 and the actual allocations will come out 11/11. Therefore, your dealer likely does not have an allocation yet and he submitted your build via GM's workbench which is just a preliminary order and 1100 status. Sorry to share this but I would connect with your dealer. You are likely not moving to production as when my order was at 1100 chat said the same thing to me. Once you hit 2000 and 3000 things are progressing to a TPW and actual build. You could be a month or months away from getting an actual allocation from this dealer.[/QUOTE
100% correct but I think allocations will go to the dealers on 11/6 and have to be summited by 13th with corrections by 16th.
Got the Makarewicz email to empty the piggy bank, VIN 5411 built today. Option one CD to Punta Gorda, should be crusing by Tgiving. Eight months give or take, chasing this forum took on a life of it's own. Guess I'll use that time daily to get the break-in miles before the seasonal hordes arrive.
So fellow SW Floridians, Parrot Key Ft Myers Beach twice monthly shows in a red midst are de rigueur, got a 40 Ford that will be for sale to make room in the garage.
I have a couple GM Card nickels to cash in, how do I go about doing that?

It looks like the 10/18 TPW builds were completed today.

You are 100% right, that's exactly how Dave Salvatore told me it worked..
I asked him why a dealer with an allocation and no buyer wouldn't just make a floor order. He said, first dealer (non customer) orders go to the back of the line, second as soon as the place the order it goes against their inventory and they may not get another allocation till its sold.
Shoot ! My cars was supposed to be built tomorrow the 29th I’m #6377 796 cars behind oh well another 8/9 business days .
Interesting some guys are reporting their cars were build ahead of schedule. On 10/2 on a 10/18 TPW, another on schedule 10/20 on a 10/18 TPW but you behind. Another guy got a 12/13 TPW today.
VIN 5496 shows built yesterday 10/28 per Shane - a few days past what I was told earlier but after all these months a few days is certainly not bad. Good luck to everyone still waiting but as many have said once they took delivery---E|WORTH THE WAIT AND MONEY :-)
Not really sure what the order process procedures follow for timing and I’m truly not concerned at this moment. I just know I have the Order Build Sheet with the options I want. Delivery timing is not a big worry for me. If it comes early, I’ll deal with it, if it comes later, no problem. I won’t be able to drive it until very late February or mid March anyway. If it arrives after that great, less time sitting in storage un driven while the warranty clock ticks. In fact later might work better on two fronts, more time to save the cash and better timing (spring time) to sell my C7. Later maybe works better for me. Just happily grinning ear to ear to be starting the walk. 😁😁😁😎
So you just walked in on 9/23 are ordered. My Hero
I didn't walk in, I called. LOL
Actually, I called and emailed over 30 dealers (I lost count) around the country before I found one who had an allocation. My effort paid off, I guess.
