Callaway To Debut Callaway Corvette C8 "Launch Edition"
We've selected Corvettes at Carlisle for the introduction of the Callaway Corvette C8 "Launch Edition". Callaway staff will be presenting an integrated group of "Powerfully Engineered" components, designed to enhance several Corvette C8 performance characteristics. The illustration shown below identifies some of the Callaway content in yellow. See Callaway's website for more information on the Callaway Corvette C8 Launch Edition page: CLICK HERE
I NEED that double D exhaust system. Biggest complaint about the back is not having the tips in the center as it was with the C7. I see previous iterations of this system were around $5K, I am guessing it will be more for the C8 due to the relocation of the tips and extra carbon fiber trim needed.
Hopefully they're allowed to start working on performance upgrades vs just the appearance stuff. Lingenfelter is claiming over 100 hp gain with their intake manifold, Corsa headers & exhaust on the 60th Anniversary Cunningham car. Interestingly, there is no mention of warranty in anything on the Cunningham car and they're asking $150k for it.
My guess is it will be around the same as what Lingenfelter is claiming for HP boost since Callaway will be using Callaway branded versions of the same parts (ported intake, throttle body, exhaust). The big difference is going to be that Callaway can actually tune the car vs w/ Lingenfelter they cannot or are using a piggy back. For the first time we'll be able to see what gains can be had from tuning the ECU.
I just don't know where Calloway is indicating a tune for this particular Edition. If not it seems like they have just moved forward without the tune. A ported intake manifold and ported TB I thought would require a tuning adjustment from the factory ECU.....well from Calloway. I guess that we would never know and remain undisclosed.

Where exactly are you seeing that Callaway "can actually tune the car" because their site mentions no such thing. Ported intake manifold, filter, and muffler with no other mods are likely all they could do safely to avoid tuning.
Calloway needs to be more specific on the 3/36 warranty. The ported intake manifold, TB and the Honker Intake should be a concern regarding their warranty. We apparently see a modification here. However, If in fact a tuning was not required that would be good news for our members.
People have done all these modifications (not the same manufacturers Intake manifold, CAI, headers, exhaust without tuning and the ECU achieved stock targeted AFR. I guess because of the wideband O2 sensors and closed loop operation at full throttle. It appears the injectors are large enough to support 20% more power.
