Default C8 Pricing

I have opportunity to pick up a 2021 Vert with $101k MSRP at MSRP....3LT, Z51, black wheels, carbon fiber/flash throughout (around $22k in options). I haven't stayed in touch with the Vette market as heavily since I sold my Z06 several years ago, but I've been reading these being hard to get. I'd have to pay around $9k sales tax, so I'd be all in around $110k.

I don't think I'd plan to hold on to this more than 6 months, maybe a bit longer depending on the market.

Are these still being sold at a premium over MSRP?

On the used market for 2020/2021, are these still being sold at a premium as well? I did a quick search of used, 3LT Z51 Verts and all were listed between $115k-120k, but obviously what is posted isn't what they are possibly getting.

They have 3 of them at Mecum in Dallas so watch them go over the block this weekend. Remember that the buyer pays 10% over the hammer price.

I drove cars for them yesterday...but no C8's went across.

If you don't want to keep the car, let someone who really wants it buy it. MHO.

$101K MSRP? I think that's bit of a stretch. Mine was a 2021 HTC 3LT Z-51, and was 92,000 before taxes, Only option not there was carbon fibre. High wing is included.
I suspect prices will start to plummet in about a year, but who knows? If you only plan to keep it 6 months or so, expect a beating by the market, and hope it doesn't happen.

I just sold my 21 HTC and I've been watching C6-C8 prices over the last month.

Just my opinion, but I think prices are starting to drop a little. I see dealer cars dropping prices from original listing. Owners will lag .....

Not trying to start arguments, but this is what I have been observing over the last month.

I'm gambling on picking up a c6-c7 in the next few months as I think once the Z06 hits the market we will see another round of buyers move form C8 to C8 Z06.

BTW, I can honestly say this was the nicest car I have owned up to this point. (Of course, I am eyeing the eRay :>)

LOL didn't say I didn't want to enjoy it. But I don't want to take a bath in it ($$$$-wise). Plenty of ppl buy and sell with very few miles on it.

It's not. I've seen the window sticker. All the major options plus the smaller $500 options like car cover, stripes, etc. Was yours a 20? The $101.6k included destination so more like 100k MSRP. Wheels were _2k I think, all Z51, lift, fiber, stripes, etc.

Thanks for the thoughts. I wanted a c7 Z06 but those prices sky rocketed as well.

What did you sell your HTC for, mileage, and original MSRP?

If you want one that is a good price. To get now anyway. Like ddent01 posted the prices are leveling off. Even coming down a touch maybe. Dealers are still at 10-20K ADM. They will not hold that price forever obviously, but they are still bringing a premium.

Would be nice to see the window sticker. That is a healthy MSRP. Almost have to have Vin up charge and everything..

Sam

That's a loaded car for sure! Just a hunch, but since it's sooo loaded the resale won't be as much a gain as say an 1LT Z51 base tracker. Who knows...but it's awesome car at MSRP!

It did. Yep that's a loaded up C8. Nice, albeit the luggage. Can't wrap my mind around that one but that's just me.

Prices are still up there over MSRP, including used ones. I’ve seen a $20-25K markup in many cases, sometimes less depending on the car and of course the seller.

How long the markup will last is unknown, but hopefully it will settle down soon and MSRP prides (and maybe a bit below, will be the norm. I would guess within the next year if BG can finally ramp up production with no parts supply or possible chip disruptions.

It depends on what you do in 6 months.
Trade the C8 towards another car and offset the sales tax on the new purchase, then it’s probably worth it.
Sell the C8 outright and hope to cover you total original cost, that has some risk that the premium over MSRP is still there on a used car.
It also depends on the value you assign to driving a C8 for 6 months.

My 2022 build is showing something close to $102,750 so that MSRP isn’t a stretch at all.

Yeah, that’s a $101K car alright. Seems like someone ticked every possible box; Luggage $1,450, Black Rockers $550, Car Cover $460, Splash Guards $250, Premium Floor Mats $235, Jake Cargo Liner $145, CTEK Battery Charger, $100, etc…

Wow! Guess if you don't have any competition, but makes me wonder what they'd sell a used one for...MSRP?
