@bleppek Congrats! I'm doing museum delivery in ~3 weeks and trying to gather some info for planning purposes. If you can help answer any of these, it would be helpful.
  • Do you remember about how long the process took? Like how long was the walkthrough of your car, and how long did it take to drive out and do pictures?
  • Did you get a tour guide for the museum, or did you just walk around on your own? If you had a guide, about how long did the tour take?
  • Did you have a set pickup time, or was it just "Friday morning"? Wondering how strict they are with their times, for example if my flight in gets delayed, etc.
  • Are you able to leave your car to go do stuff after your walkthrough, or do you drive it out right away?
  • They still aren't doing museum tours or photo books, right?
  • Anything else that you think is worth others knowing?
Thanks for any help you can provide on any of these!

Do you remember about how long the process took? Like how long was the walkthrough of your car, and how long did it take to drive out and do pictures?

I arrived just before 10AM and left about 5 hours later. That included eating lunch at the Cafe and some shopping at the store. The actual car walk through was about an hour or so.
  • Did you get a tour guide for the museum, or did you just walk around on your own? If you had a guide, about how long did the tour take?
The person who does your car walk through also gives you a private tour of the museum. You can spend as little or as much time as you want on the museum tour. Mine was probably a little over an hour.
  • Did you have a set pickup time, or was it just "Friday morning"? Wondering how strict they are with their times, for example if my flight in gets delayed, etc.
They schedule appointments for either 7:45 am or 10 am. No Sunday deliveries.
  • Are you able to leave your car to go do stuff after your walkthrough, or do you drive it out right away?
After your car tour, they drive your car out and then you do the outside pictures. You can then just park it in the museum lot and do as you wish. I parked and then went back in to hit the corvette store.
  • They still aren't doing museum tours or photo books, right?
No factory tours still (I think that's what you were asking). You get a rain check for a later date. Not sure on photo books. I never inquired.
  • Anything else that you think is worth others knowing?
Noting else to really know. Just have to bring drivers license, plate or temp tag, bill of sale, and proof of insurance. It was a great day..

Thanks for any help you can provide on any of these!

@PColasanto See above for responses. Hope it helps.

You folks are more patient than me. My car was delivered Wednesday and I picked it up Thursday morning. My sales guy knew good and damned well I wasn’t waiting days for it. Honestly, he was pretty excited for me. He’s texted me several times since delivery to see if I have any questions, issues, etc. A great guy.

But, yeah, waiting a week for PDI/delivery. Nope, nope, nope.

We were told they do 8 NCM deliveries per day.

They are not doing photobooks currently due to COVID and photographers in the plant, per Shane about 4 weeks ago.

I sent you a PM.

Hey I'm an older guy but have had my share of cars (no vettes). Right now I think because there's so much to learn on the electronics, settings etc it's a little intimidating. Plus my age.
You get to a point in life you just want to point it straight and press GO.

That being said first impressions:
my tranny shifts like a dream. very quick and VERY smooth.
the ride (bumps etc) is EXcellent. I have mag ride.
Jury still out but I think road noise was loud. of course i need more miles and roads i'm familiar with.
I took 2 turns FAST near home and was blown away. Hugs like grizzly bear.
I drove 200 miles home and was getting a few stares, a thumbs up from a c7, and a thumbs up from a passing motorcycle rider to my right.
That stuff I personally dont like. I feel naked!

I havent driven it since i'm home. well maybe10 miles with the bride. Surprisingly since this is my mistress they got along very well!
I'm awaiting ACS side skirts and PPF appointment so trying to keep the miles down till then. It will get plenty of use. I'm driving down with it to Naples, FL in January
pics to come soon.
Regards,,,

Default In the absence of Friday's Daily production are y'all got withdrawal pains?

Without Friday's numbers, the mark-up of completed cars is behind. It will all get caught up, but I know, it's painful not knowing. Here's a little bit:

Default Well…

I’m #5295, or what should have been the 84th car produced on Friday and it was not. Friday must have been another very low output day if any were produced at all…(?) 🥲

We simply do not know what, why or how many. We likely will not know until Tuesday morning. This is not the first time that numbers have not been reported AT ALL. In this case, no numbers are better than low numbers, if history repeats itself.

Have you asked chevy chat (live advisor) or the corvette concierge for your order status number?

what? every time I've contacted a live advisor, they would give me a status code. I just had to ask for one.

Same, as long as I ask for a status code specifically, they give it. Unfortunately, they can't give me my TPW or any further information (I'm at 3300). And my dealer claims they don't know where to find it either. I bugged the museum a couple weeks ago, don't want to bother them again. Oh well, I know it's coming soon™.

The code is the same…3400. Can you decipher that? Let me know. Any info would be helpful. And don’t put in what 3400 means. Like everyone else here on the thread…I know. Serenity now.

i wasn’t meaning my response in a rude way. You just said that they responded with “you vehicle has been accepted…yadha yadha” which is the canned response from the automated advisor, the live ones have always given me a status code, as you JUST mentioned. Just making sure you knew that you could get an actual code number. Sorry.
