How is the PPF installer going to deal with the decals? My PPF installer with 20 years of experience claim that those stripes on the facia and hood are very difficult to do and that it would be noticeable!

My installer says it will be a little raise but not noticeable unless you really look for it...
He swears I'll not be dissapointed... I get it back on Fri...I'll let you know...
My guy is excellent...
I'll let you know

We all know C8 resale / new values are crazy. I REALLY like the C8R and considered ordering one, but could stomach the upcharge and an ADM on an already expensive ride.

What blows me away is dealers contacting me and folks on Facebook trying to sell them for $50k over sticker! Insane.

agreed on the markups -- here's the funny thing though...I don't think I would take $150k for mine right now.

We picked ours up at the museum yesterday. What a fantastic experience!

A bit of a back story. My dad got me into Corvettes, I’m 53 years old now. He’s always had vettes, going back to 1967. I own his 67 Vette now. I guess I’ve passed on the Vette tradition in my family as now my sons are huge enthusiasts too.

32 years ago my dad and I bought a 69 Vette together. We fixed it up over the years, at some point we dropped a Ramjet ZL1 crate motor in it. Very special engine, all aluminum big block based off the original tooling used to make the original ZL1 engine back in the late 60’s. There were only 200 of these engines produced and ours was 185/200.

sadly we lost my dad to cancer 2 years ago.

Fast forward to present times, I put a deposit on a C8.R edition. Shane contacted me to let me know my car was built and I could pick it up at the museum on October 19th. I ask Shane, can you tell me which one of the 1000 is my car? His response sent chills down my spine, 185/1000. Incredible! I have to think this is my dad at work behind the scenes ❤️

I have to say that pictures or Hypersonic Gray do no justice. This color has to be seen in person. Gorgeous!

69 Vette -- wow, what a story (we share similar circumstances) and Congratulations on your beautiful C8R.

I too got into Corvettes due to my father -- he bought a 67' brand new, which sadly is no longer in our family, he was so proud of that car - it had the highly coveted option of A/C. I have a love of corvettes mostly due to my father and I too have the hypersonic gray C8R coming. We also lost my father in February of 2019 to Cancer. Congratulations again on your car -- we cant wait to take delivery of ours as well.

Great story. 185 is great! Thanks for sharing the pictures.
I’m curious when they installed the side rocker ground effects? Looks like some pics have them installed and some are without. Could be my old eyes too.

good catch! The ground effects kit arrived at the museum the morning of delivery.
while we did the museum tour they pulled the car in the back to install them. By the time we were done the car was back out on display complete 👍

Absolutely stunning car! I can certainly understand that big smile on your face. I'm jealous of you guys that were able to get one of the C8.R cars.

As a soon to be owner of a 22 C8.R, I really don’t appreciate pretender to post pictures of a NON 2022 C8.R in this tread. I understand Gettysburg is senior member, but that shouldn’t allow for material not relevant to the thread.

Personally, I would be more than embarrassed to have the "C8-R" decals on my car if it weren't a real C8-R.....they should be removed.
