Default 2023 changes

There has been talk that the center row of climate controls would be redesigned for 2023, to reduce the height of the wall. This may be why the 2023 Z06 and the 2023 C-8 are being released at the same time. I noticed that in all news releases concerning the 2023 Z06 by GM, note that there may be changes.

Got my 2021 in August and in 9 months it will not only be 2 years old, but the interior will be dated.😜

Talk? Where? Facebook? Or do you have a source?

Exactly 19 people out of almost 50,000 C8 owners dislike the wall. Now that I own one, I like the wall because of how clean it leaves the dash.

well according to the 2023 Z06 there will be no button changes. The only thing that will be new is the anniversary edition.

Doesn’t seem likely GM would bother to create a new carbon fiber trim panel for the wall (for 2023) if they're planning to redesign the wall for 2024…

Personally, I like the "Great Wall". For 2023, I REALLY hope they get some more exciting/vibrant colors and better wheel options. Even though this is a sports car, I still would like to see them add a dynamic cruise control options

On the sporty side, I'd like to see a LED RPM steering wheel like those found on the exotics. I think this would go great on the z06.

Looks like the changes will include the new Adrenaline Red Dipped interior. Stands to reason that Morello Red Dipped will no longer be available.

Perhaps some new exterior colors will be coming, too. Perhaps a new blue or a green is on the way?

Dream on, it isn't going anywhere, they aren't stopping 2022 builds on May6th and starting 2023 cars 3 days later with a whole new interior remake. There is zero reason to change something when you have years deep of orders.

I never said I dislike the wall. The fact is I love the way it looks. I read a few articles about a change in upper management that hated it and was going to change it. But being 76, I forgot where I read it. What made me think it may happen was the post of introducing the 2023 C-8 in May. Personally I hope they make zero changes as I feel like I am in a cockpit. l

Michael Simcoe is GM head of design and there are many articles regarding his dislike of the wall. It is also mentioned in these articles that his plan is to change for the 2023 model. Almost all owners love the current design as do I.

I'm thinking I may be putting my C8 up for sale. I'm not doing it because I want to make a profit but rather I don't want a car with a "dated" interior.

Head of design isn’t high enough on the food chain for their personal opinions to get incorporated based on opinion alone. There has to be a strong financial justification such as waning sales triggering a mid cycle refresh before any bean counter is going to approve throwing more design money just a couple years after a new design was already released at a car with record demand.
There’s no doubt a lot of features GM engineers designers and executives don’t like or wish were incorporated, but it’s a decision by committee.

Interesting. No worries on the source and I apologize if my tone was a bit blunt. I too hope they keep it the Wall. Even if the “design team” wanted to make the change, the bean counters would have a strong case for a hard, “no” given that the car is still selling faster than they can make them.

Looks like Michael Simcoe is over EXTERIOR design for GM NA. Not sure what someone over exterior has to do with the interior.
