Default C8 Used Mark-Ups

Is it just me or is anyone else out there tired of seeing the markups people are putting on their used C8’s? $20k, $30k, ….etc.
I would never pay more than sticker on a gm veihicle. It doesn’t matter what they do to it, it’s still not and will never be a Lamborghini or a prancing horse. I am still buying the new Z06 but just saying in no way are these worth the markups. Ferrari has been doing flat plane cranks for years and years. Gm does one and they talk it up like they pat tended the flat plane. The gm dealers are now going nuts with marking up the cars yet They still can’t get one produced an in a showroom in a timely fashion. I passed by the local Ferrari dealership and there was no famine there.

These C8 people buy the cars over sticker and then look at making a large profit as well. It’s actually pretty sad with this world we live in. Not looking to **** people off, but just my opinion. Sorry just venting as I was perusing through the for sale ads.

I understand where you're coming from, but honestly, I don't give a rat's *** what someone does with their car(s).

I think it accurate to say that everyone in this group has made money by buying something low and selling high, owns a company that does it, and/or works for someone who does it.
Don't worry about what other people are doing, if you don't like it, move along and don't waste another brain cycle on other peoples' business.

Crypto - buy low sell high - someone is losing when you profit (unless you're mining in which case, buy GPUs low, mine, sell GPUs high... or heck, even break even is fine)
Securities - buy low sell high
Real estate - buy low sell high - or rent for more than your mortgage payment
Amazon or any other retail store - buy low sell high - Example: Two weeks ago I bought 250 of an item on sale from Walmart for $15 each, I'm selling them for $70 each on Amazon. I should have bought a LOT more when I had the opportunity. They're out of stock now. This arbitrage business is what's paying for my C8.
I do all the above and also work for a fortune 100 - we build really, really, really expensive stuff to provide a service and need to sell that service for much higher than our OPEX to eventually make our R&D and CAPEX/OPEX back

So, you think people should sell their used C8 for less than the going market price. That's absurd. When you sell a car, do you sell it for significantly less than its market value?

The market is what it is because of all the bs in the world and the jacked up pricing. Look back in the for sale history of used c7’s an 6’s. I sold my c6 Z two years ago with 9800 miles on it for $35k. What do you think I could sell it for right now. It’s ridiculous. Eventually it will crash and so will the crazy market. Give it two more years and The c7 Z’s will be sub $50k

Not really sure what your point is here. I sold my Turbo S for $60K. I could get $100K for it in this market. Oh well. At least I didn't pay 10K BTC for 2 pizzas.

love the Porsche Turbo 911 icon. That’s where I am headed if I don’t see a C8 Z with 2 years.

May as well take advantage of those that are willing to part with their money. I won’t pay over sticker myself. However I will be more than willing to take it from others when the time comes.

I have to be honest, it wasn't what I was expecting or wanted. It was basically docile (I'd say similar to an E46 M3) or rammed your eyes through the back of your head. Not much in between the two. I'd rather have a GT3 (or C8 Z06).

Understood. Just so hard to get the allocation for the gt3 if you don’t have a prior ownership of one or a really good Porsche buying history with the dealership.

Well, you got that half right. The market is what it is because of all the bs in the world. The jacked up prices are the result of the market (supply and demand), not the cause of it.

In the end, price is actually insignificant in the grand scheme of things. An item/s value or worth is what someone is willing to pay for it... Take a hypercar, for example, you may think no way it's worth 2.5 million dollars BUT there is always going to be someone who thinks it's worth more than what you perceive the value is.

Granted the C8 is not an Italian, German, English breed of car BUT at the same time it's what people are wanting..and what people not only want but dare I say "thrive" for is the exclusivity of it and with that, they will pay for that right.

Think of it to many other things that are ridiculously priced due to the WANT factor.. Cabbage Patch Dolls, Furbies, etc these are simple toys that people paid astronomical prices for. Why because that's what they felt it was worth to them and to be in that "exclusivity club". And in the end, if someone sees an option for a profit well, so be it. In the end, it only makes your car more desirable and more valuable only difference is YOU didn't pay an exorbitant price for membership so sit back and enjoy.

The only people upset with the pricing are those without a C8.

if you want a car you can be patient and get on a list or pay market value if you have to have it now.

I agree.......personally it would be foolish to sell a C8 at MSRP with the current market all over the place. No brainer.

If they didn’t sell at the markup prices then prices would go down. Someone is paying these crazy prices. But then again I’ve seen Kias lately 5 k over MSRP.

It’s a sellers market.
